Anyone that knows anything about subs/amps!
ONE, 10" alpine type-s sub. 4 coils. watts per coil is 150watt. Max output of sub is 900 watts.
What kinda of amp should i get for the best sound out of the sub?
____ watts x 2?
Thanks!

well, since you said 4coils, I'm assuming you meant Dual 4ohm Voicecoils?? if it is indeed dual 4ohm, you need a 300-400watt amp that's mono stable at 2ohms... I'll find some examples..
this alpine amp would be perfect.. it's 350x1 @ 2ohm.. $159

This Hifonics would be good cause it's 300x1 @ 2ohm or 600x1 @ 1ohm.... this way, if you have the single 10 and 300 watts to it, and you want more, all you'll have to do is buy another dual4ohm 10" type-s and wire them in parallel/parallel for a 1ohm load... in short, if you don't like one, this amp will also power 2 efficiently..

thanks for the help! I im thinking of swapping out my OEM sub. I might go with the alpine amp and sub.

you mean swapping the OEM out and putting a 10 in the factory box??? if so, you need to make sure the enclosure volume of the box is within the specifications for the subwoofer... you'll also have to put a seal plate over the port otherwise, it'll sound like big poo
edit: also make sure there's enough mounting depth in the box for your subwoofer and about an inch to spare for pole vent
