Default Injen CAI

I am ordering my Injen CAI with 2 colors to choose from (black and Polished) I have a FM tC. A friend of mine says that Polished is hard to keep clean I was just wanting some opinions on what you guys think that would look best.

Depends one what else you'll be doing... if you're going to have a theme... but I think if you have a dark car, the black would look pretty good. Then again, polished is polished.

Default Theme

The engine theme will probably be blue. Of course either finish will go with every color. I need to decide before tomorrow because I already ordered polished I need to get with TRDSparks and change my order if I decide to go with black. Thanks man, Happy Birthday!

Default Polished

I am going to go with polished cause I think instead of blue I am going to use some carbon fiber accents under the hood and then light it in blue. So I think the polished intake will make everything pop better.

Default Question

Would it be possible to Brillo pad the intake to give it more a stainless look that would be awesome. I would probably have to have it clear coated afterwards to prevent rusting but I think it would be bad azz if I could do that. It would look more like the block and all of the surrounding parts. I have seen it done on Exile Choppers but I'm not sure if it will work on the intake and it is a big risk to take if it doesn't work. So if anyone knows anything about this please let me know.

This one's a "pick-your-poison" decision.

1. Polished will look nice but will be hard to keep polished.
2. Black will look nice but will be hard to keep clean because it will show dust/dirt.

Stick with the polished. It will look good on FM.

Default Bling Bling

I'm not a huge fan of the Bling Bling either that is why I was asking if it was possible to Brillo pad it to take some of the polish out of it and then possibly clear coat it.

Default Carbon Fiber

Either that or I am also thinking about getting some Carbon Fiber Vinyl and just doing a wrap on it I can't decide, it should be here Monday in Polished so I will have to decide.

I wanted the black but decided to go with the polished only because of the difficulty installing the cold air portion of the intake. I scratched the crap out of the polished one but it's no big deal. If it had been black I would have had some nice chunks of missing paint on the pipe. If it wasn't so difficult to do without scratching, I would recommend the black over polished in a heartbeat.

Yea, I was super carefull with my polished intake and it still got some scratches. I think that if I would of installed the edge protector prior to the install it could have eliminated the posibility of scratches -Hindsight is always 20/20...

Yep I was thinking the same thing afterwards. I DID try to get that silly strip of rubber in place but it got the best of me. I only got a little scratch. I went with polished. Looks nice.
