I want to move my overdrive button somewhere else. What kind of switch does it need to be wired to? Please help

 

you need a single pole momentary contact push button.
like a door bell button.they make a small one that you can buarry on the side of the console.
or you can go fancy or wild like these.

Lowes,Home Depot ACE Hardware and just about any home repair store.

Radio Shack. Just wire it like your stock one on the shifter. What I mean is extend the wires that are going to it now and hook them to your new switch. You should be able to trace the wires from the shifter down under the console...

The second link actually says, "not for vehicles equipped w/OD." I have been looking for one myself, I think the rewiring is the only way to go.

 

Any of those will work, I am in the process of moving my O/D button next to the cup holders and then putting a momo shift **** with leather boot.

 

well im concerned about the fact that our ***** are oval shaped and most of these after market ***** are made for round shafts. Which mom one will you be using?

any automatic **** will work if u move the o/d switch.
i moved the switch next to fog light switch.
and i bought scion OEM shift bootfor mannual tranny from dealer
and flipped over the chrome finisher and make the hole bigger with drill.
i really look clean and nice.

 

Can you post pics? I dont understand what your saying about the flipped over the chrome finisher...

 

don't really know hot to post a pic.
but there is chrome finisher with OEM boots as well.
and there is a ring to hold the finisher in place inside the boot.
take that ring off and then turn the finisher upside down and then put the ring back.
