Default 2007 Toyota Camry VS. 2006 Scion tC

I love my tC. But... look.

tC = 160HP -- 23/30MPG [Auto]

2007 Camry V6 -- 268HP -- 22/31 [Auto]

My tC is all paid off.. so if I traded in my tC for a '07 Camry.. I'd just have to pay about $4k.

I like the new Camry. However, if I was going for a "family car" I'd definately buy the new Passat.

Even though the camry has a nice powerplant, its gear ratios are going to hurt you, and id be willing to bet money and say that the tC doesnt seem 100HP slower than the Camry.

Also, how do you figure only paying 4k???

Agreed all around. Especially seeing that the loaded SE will sticker somewhere around $31k...

Actually an SE with its only option package is around $28,000. Not bad for 268hp, 6-speed auto, Leather, alloys, spoiler, sport suspension, premium audio with 8 speakers, Bluetooth, projector headlights, full sized spare tire, ground effects, not to mention the optitron gauges. Loads better than an 06....

Oh, and a true dual exhaust.

And if some of that stuff doesn't matter, you can always get an LE V6 for around $25,000.....

i dont see the point of trading in a great car.. for just a new redsigned family car. i guess u didnt really want the tC in the first place since u were so quick to trade it in. lol good luck with the camry.. i do like the blue lit up dials for the instrument/dash board

As a two time Camry owner (gen1 and 3) and one time Celica owner as well as one of the super mods and a member since day one on toyotanation.com (originally a camry forum), I gotta say the 07 SE V6 is a hot car and I see the tC as the eveloution of the Celica. With that said, I'm having the same delima buying an 06 S/C'ed tC or an 07 SE Camry. The lack of a manual on the SE V6 is definately swaying me toward the tC tho I have yet to test drive the 4cyl manual SE Camry.

If it is horsepower you are concerned about, you can get to that level easily. You are willing to trade your tC plus 4 grand for the Camry. Keep the tC and put that 4,000 into a turbo and other parts to beef up the tC's engine. Even if you don't reach the 268hp, I am sure the tC is lighter than the Camry and is a lot more sporty.
