Bazookas will play fine in any direction. They say that you'll bet more bass if you angle them towards the corners. Any way you put the speaker it should do fine. Just play with it until it sounds best or until you get it where you like it best.

They do take up a good bit of room. If they can find a way to mount it vertically without messing up the interior, I say go for it. I haven't seen the bazooka installed. Is there a way to disconnect it quickly and remove it from the car?

Find the wires going to it and see if there is a way to just unplug it or unscrew it. I don't use that space that often unless I have something big. If you can take it out, don't worry about it until you need to put something back there. Then unplug it and move it out of the way.

Is there enough wire that if you laid down the back seat you could push it over out of the way for whatever you need in the back? Just another option.

OMG....the thing comes with a template to show you where to mount and drill in the cargo covers. It should be easy to fix. Just unlatch the sub, pop the cover and unscrew the mounting brackets. Measure the distances before you take them out and redrill holes to mount against the left strut tower brace. When you put the brackets back in, make sure the sub release bolts are not against the strut tower brace or it will be more difficult to remove the sub later.

Sorry I can't help you with your topic but on a side note I find it strange how quite a few people have such problems with there dealer. The dealer I went with here in Baltimore,MD was just about perfect. Had all my answers and when I threw some hard questions out the kid found the answers in a day or so. Its a shame not all places are the same.

Wow. They are definitely running you around like crazy. This is completely unexcuseable.

Go back to the dealer and tell them it is wrong. It should be mounted VERTICALLY, and tucked in the corner so it doesn't take up trunk space. I had mine installed in my tC and honestly... it is so snug and compact, that you can't even tell if it is in the trunk almost. This is the key selling feature of this tube. Good bass (not the best, but VERY good) and it takes up almost no room.

Secondly, the pedals SHOULD be metal with black rubber accents for grip. If they aren't, they got the wrong ones.

Finally, the guys at their service centers go to classes and school to become "certified" for various products. If they don't fix the stuff for you, tell them you will call Toyota yourself and have someone from there contact them personally. They can get in trouble for doing this sort of thing.

I agree with tonester. There are alot of rules when it comes to Scions across the whole spectrum of the car experience. They can lose there license to sell Scions for making certain mistakes.

I never ever seen white pedals either. Blue, Red, and Silver are all I have seen.

we have the bazooka in our xB and its mounted front to back (not side to side) about 12" from the left side. yes, it takes up most of the truck. the pic in the scion brochure of it mounted side to side is wrong (preproduction).

Whoa whoa whoa bro...

The bazooka can go in the trunk just about any way you want it to be. It's not "false advertisement" by any means. Relax, it's no big deal.

As someone said before just move it around and see which way it sounds best. I don't think you're going to notice any difference so just put it however you want it to be.
