I really like it. It's not going to give you the same effect as a "real" sub and amp but it gets the job done.

I thought about getting that, but happen to have an old MTX lying around so I used that. Too bad though, would have saved me some room in the back and I wouldn't have to remove the sub when I need to put things in the car. Oh well. Nice setup.

That was the main reason that I went with this sub. Our trunks were small enough as it is and I didn't want to sacrifice anymore space. Plus, it's nice and out of sight so you can pull it off as a stock system

Very nice setup! I'm considering it myself. How does it compare w/ the factory Bazooka 10"?

I've never heard the Bazooka sub so I really have no idea. But I'd imagine a 10 inch to kick harder than two 6.5 inchers.

The factory bazooka is way over priced for what it is and you cant use the sub with an aftermarket headunit. The kenwood can be found online for around $150 compared to the $260+ bazooka.

Clean... I like it.... I just think that the carpet would take away alot of the sound.

It shouldn't make too much of a difference I don't think. It's not like it's air tight or anything... but then again, I have no idea.

Anyone thinking about getting a sub and isn’t willing to sacrifice any space at all should really look into getting one of these. I got a chance to meet up with chipm0nk today and checked out the sub in person, they looks awesome. The 2 6.5inch subwoofer sound bigger than they look. It’s amazing how the tiny little thing can put out so much power. Thanks chipm0nk for letting me check out your ride.

so is it actually 2 6.5" subs or is one just a passive radiator???

I've got 2 6.5" Elemental Design Eu-700's that are amazing in the ported box I built....but they still take up a little space..

From crutchfield.com

Kenwood's KSC-SW1 subwoofer may be just what you need if you're looking for more bass, but don't have space for a conventional sub box or powered sub. This compact sub features an amplifier that pushes 150 watts RMS to a 6-1/2" woofer, with a 6-1/2" passive radiator built in for good measure. It's all housed in a rugged, low-profile enclosure that will fit just about anywhere.

The passive radiator technology is one of the keys to the surprisingly big sound of the KSC-SW1. Air pressure from the powered woofer moves the unpowered 6-1/2" radiator, augmenting the bass response. Both subs are housed in a non-resonant cabinet with a rigid aluminum die-cast back panel. The rigid cabinet reduces vibrations that distort the output of the speakers, so you'll enjoy clean bass.

right on.... usually, if designed right, passive radiators can give surprising output!!

I doubt the carpet will change much. The RSX subs are located under the carpet on the spare tire and it sounds fine.
