Oh man, I just put my subs in !!!! They sound great in the xb. I have the kicker kx600.1 amp with two 10" alpine type-r 2 ohm dvc subs in sealed box. It sounds very tight and super clean. My g.f. says it is too tight for her taste. She had 2 cvr 12" 's on the same amp last year in a ported box , I kinda thought it was too much and all you could hear was a constant rumble. With this setup I get each note punching out very strong. The type-r subs are something to look into. IMO !! I did put batting in the box and I may take it out to see what it sounds like, what do you guys think. I also have my highs amped and they start to distort at about volume 30-31 but the subs havent even started to complain. what is sad is I have the volume offset on the highs amp at neg. 15. But it sounds super clean at 29-30. I think I may have to get stronger door and rear panel speakers, the highs amp is 4x 88watts r.m.s. and the speakers are 65 watts r.m.s , 200 watt peak. any suggestions. ???

 

alpine type R is a nice speaker. i had a type X but i blew it quick style. now i have 2 kicker cvr. bought them both with a sealed box for $260 new

 

Where is the gain set on the 4ch amp??

 

te 4 ch amp doesn't really have gain *****. It has a **** to set the pre-out out put voltage and then there are frequency setting in khz , and it the digital menu on top the is treble adjustments and volume offset, bass adjustments abd a bass Q setting adjustment. ? I am not much of an audiophile , and it is designed to make changes that are very hard to detect to the untrained ear.
