toupsz 05-24-2004, 03:00 AM I don't think Ist stands for anything. According to the Toyota factory tour, bB is for Black Box.
UnFocused 05-28-2004, 09:23 PM I don't think Ist stands for anything. According to the Toyota factory tour, bB is for Black Box.
I though bB was for "best balance"...
mikochu 05-28-2004, 10:18 PM IST... It's Simply Terrific! lol
BlueBox 05-28-2004, 10:33 PM Thanx for the education. The only thing I knew was that BB meant black box or thats what im lead to believe.
u're right ... bB means "black box" according to Toyota.
kikimaja 05-28-2004, 10:52 PM the letters in IST don't stand for anything. Its pronounced like "east". And the letters don't stand for anything.
toupsz 05-28-2004, 11:58 PM I read "best balance" in an article somewhere, but I'm going by what they told me at the factory plant here in Japan over that; which is that it's "black box". Of course...not all of the bB's I see rolling around here are black...but that's Japan.
And yea...in Japanese, Ist would sound more like "east" (actually...it sounds more like "easuto")...I still can't help but say it like in English...probably more because of an old joke from a few years back. (Though I could swear that our tourguide said it like it would be in English, not Japanese...)
