Default interested in an Xb..newbe here.

So im looking for a job and on my hunt i went to the local Toyota dealer, I saw they have a number of Scions on the lot, after waiting for an application i went out to take a closer look at the xb. I had seen many pictures and seen many on the road but i never got the chance to look and sit in one. It took quite some time for me to get used to the look of the Xb, its a love it or hate it design. Im getting quite practical with my car choices and the Xb screams my name. its got room for my friends, lots of leg room and all that. Yes it has quite a small engine but im coming from an old 80s vw wich is my pride and joy that has even less power but its seriously a kick in the pants to drive.

I graduate college nearly a year from now, couldn't get finished in 4 years and im very interested in a used or new Xb depending on my finacial situation. the Xb is very much on the top of my list of cars to look at. So I am here to read and reaserch the Xb, and well add a nother forum to my favorites that will suck my time away. I'll take mine in white, blue or black.. manual tranny please. ... heck i should drive one before talking about it too much.

As you can already tell , many scion gods live on this site. While they won't help you financially ( or will they?) they can definetely tell you ANYTHING you wanna know about a scion. I bought a manual blue onyx last month I have already started doing things to improve my car that I learned about here. As far as being practical goes, there a few competitiors for the mileage, room, looks and most important the value for dollar. Heck, even insurance is cheap for these things. Go drive one, and spend some time with it at the dealer, If it doesn't start to grow on you in a few minutes , give it a few more minutes and you will be hooked. good luck.

p.s. in most areas you can buy new cheaper than you can buy used . not many cars have this appreciation factor

The current bodystyle is going to be gone soon, but you should be able to find one for a while.

I am going to have to agree. I have heard reports of people buying up the xB's from the lots and 'flipping' them, simply becasue the demand right now is toppling the supply curve. scion dealers can't mark up the boxes becasue of 'pure pricing' but individual sellers can (and do) get whatever they ask (witin reason)

all that aside, I know how you feel - the box 'screams your name'. I felt (and still do) the same way. I know if i had gotten anything else, I would have looked longingly at every one of them i saw drive by.

Buy new as the price for a used is not low enough to justify. It is a great shopping experience in that you don't have to wheel and deal, dicker, and get worn out. You either pay what they ask or don't buy. You will not find a better value in my opinion.

well if they are still available whithin the next year i will consider one... but as of now i cant make a payment with my current job/school situation.

I love me old car and well old cars in general but i would love to have a car that i can drive every day and depend on wihtought carrying tools and crap. and the scion seems to be a great idea as a car.

It's a very great idea as a car. I bought the car because it had more features and value at less of a price than most other vehicles within reason. The only one which came close was the aveo. But one drive in a MT scion and being young helped me make the right decision.

It's nice to not have to carry tools in the trunk of my car either. I used to have to do it with my truck all the time... you know the drill, a roll of duct tape, metric wrenches, a 10mm socket and ratchet and some screwdrivers.

Payments are cheap and insurance is cheap for this particular car. So if you're looking for a new car, this is quite an exceptional value.

Well, they can, by using fees. I priced an xB at three dealerships here, and their fees were $950, $500 and $400.
