When adding new mods to your xB, what do you look for? And how do you decided that is is best for your car?

Thats a very broad question. anything in peticular you are looking at? Doing research on any part is a good start though.

i usually look around to see if anyone has had any gripes with the company, or any certain products, and i look at how its made, staying away from easily breakable things
company reputation, is probably the biggest thing for me because if their products are good, i am usually a customer for life

What are you looking for? Performance, looks, comfort? Then you have to ask from there, how much you want to spend, what look you're going for, stuff like that. Do you want something obvious that everybody is going to see, like new headlights or rims, or something that probably just the people that ride with you will see like gauge faces, shift *****, or something that will only be seen on certain occasions like engine dress-up parts? You have to decide what direction you want to go with the car.

Me personally, since you have the Envy Green, I would suggest a nice set of black rims in 18" or 19", but it's your car, so whatever makes you happy.

The stereo is already golden...I have the RS 3.0 so I got a great stereo. I was thinkin of lowering it but not for a while. First I need the money and that could take a while. Plus if I were to do anything, I want to wait until about 1500 miles to break ing the engine and everything. So one of the last things to go on will the the lowering struts and stuff like that

I know that my question is quite broad but I want to know about everything and what others think about putting something on their car. I want armrests, rims, lowering struts, interior lights, lights for up front by the driver and front passenger, lights in the back, and anything else that might look good or help out with the performance of my car. Pretty much anything and everything that I can get my hands on....oh and also that TYC taillights. So whatever you have to put forward will be great.

for your car, here's what i would do...
armrest: there are many companies that make armrests, depends on if you want OEM, or if you want one with cupholders and stuff like that. i would go ZETA.
rims: a nice black set with a polished lip. at least 18".
lowering: depends on the drop you want. i would go with tein h-techs. i like that drop.
interior lights: oznium.com cold cathodes, and green LEDs around where you want, depending on how lit up you want the interior to be. mirror with map lights, LED dome light bulbs
black headlights, any style, halo, projector, whatever, with HID low beams and silverstar high beams
CAI, strut tower bar, rear sway bar, rear shock tower brace, underdrive pulleys, short throw shifter, performance clutch and pressure plate, header, exhaust, some nice engine dress-up items, ground wires, just what i would do given the money.

also, some subs, seat covers, shift ****, shift boot, wal-mart carries a House of Kolors line of spray paint, and they have a lime green. i would do the interior in that. debadge the rear, black grille, bB emblem, i wish i had money.

in a few weeks you'll most likely get a 50 gift certificate from scion, if you finaced it thourh toyota. and you can buy things from ebay. http://stores.ebay.com/SCION-WAREHOUSE-TOYOTA-MALL this store accepts the gift cards and their prices are WAYYYYY LOWER, i got my spoiler for 200 bucks there. soon my fog lights for 200 aswell, way better an 400 each!!!

^^^right on with toyota mall

this is exactly what you should do. (what? you're doing it...asking around!) a lot of people, myself included, bought a lot of stuff right out of the gate. I haven't really been disapointed with anything yet, but I may not have gotten the best prices.

as far as 'showy' stuff, I try to find things that actually make the car look cleaner, and classier. there are so many things out there that just look cheap as heck, and it's an easy trap to fall into. Take gas door (or any cf) appliques for example...I just don't get that.

as far as 'go' or performance type stuff, I feel much more of a need to do my homework, and this site is instrumental...

Default ...First things First....

Start slowly with the CABIN AIR FILTER that SCION should provide in the CABIN AIR FILTER tray that is behind your glove box. See photos and read the thread in the TECH section called 'Fabricate your own CABIN AIR FILTER'.
Go to advanced or auto zone and pay about $12 for one if you do not want to fabricate one. Do not go to the dealer for this filter, they want $22.
This will reduce the amount of dust that lands on your dash board and help with alergies.

Procede cautiously, modification should be a lifelong hobby, don't burn out in one great flame of modificiation.
