I'm okay, my back still hurts, but I need to get the "Go-Go" Box fixed. I know that the bumper could be pushed in, yada, yada, yada, but I want the guy to pay for what he did. There's a bit of rattling, I believe from the clips that hold the bumper and it's still hard for me to think about it. Guess cuz it's still fresh in my mind.

Thanks to my NorCal friends for their love and support last night at the meet, it means a lot to me. I know the damage isn't too bad, but I'm still a wreck emotionally and physically. The guy is VERY lucky I didn't have my daughter in the box or else I would have went Psycho Mom on his @$$!

Here are some pix, I just wanted to share and let you know I am okay. I have emailed my insurance guy this morning and will be taking half day to go to the doctor and to the automotive place to make sure stuff underneath is fine.

**Sorry, pictures are big and kind of dark, I tried to lighten them up a bit. I'll be taking better pictures today and hopefully my insurance guy will take some pix too.

Thanks for letting me "vent" and share. You guys/gals rock!

Much love to all my friends!

THat sucks, but it could have been worse. Looks like you need a new rear bumper cover, probably some pulls on the rear body panel, and maybe even a new muffler.

Put it through his insurance and dont even look back.

Glad to hear you are okay though.

(BTW, I work as a collision estimator for the state of New Jersey, so if you need an estimate to give to him, just give me the vin and some better pictures of the damage. LMK)

Damn that sucks Tammy, but at least you are ok (little back pain aside). I hope it is just soreness and we can proceed with Go-Go box planning!

Dude--If your back hurts and the guy rear ended you--you need a lawyer. Your Box just got paid for--and I mean more than the damage. Pain--Suffering--Physical and Mental.

Fremont/Newark drivers suck lolz! Ever since I moved to Fremont, I've had to constantly be a super defensive driver...not to mention be ready for an occasional brake check for those impatient drivers...lolz!

Sorry to hear about the box Tammie, hollar if ya need some help. =)

Hey Tammie...that sucks that you got rear-ended...glad you are relatively ok though. We were rear ended a few months ago and I feel your pain. Good luck with feeling better and getting your box to the way it was.

Ok, so here's an update (which I will post on the other boards)...

I got a call from my claims adjuster and told him the whole ordeal. So we get to talking about the other driver and the rental place. Turns out that the driver didn't get the insurance for the rental car....I had to ask twice about that one cuz I thought that was odd and the driver did say he got insurance on the rental. I'm upset, emotionally stressed that I got hit by another UI motorist. :tap: Then on top of that, Darrell looked online for that address cuz he didn't think there was too much residential property off of North 1st street in San Jose and guess what??? This guy is staying at an extended hotel place. So, we have his cell number, the place where he's staying and info from the rental place. Sounds sort of fishy to me. So, if this guy doesn't have any insurance we would have to pay out of pocket to get the car fixed (which we can't afford right now). I'm so upset over this, but am sure we can figure out a way to get the bumper replaced.

I met up with the attorney today (Thanks, Frogbox!!) cuz at first I wanted to see what options I had and I wasn't too sure if I wanted to use him. But after the no insurance to the rental car fiasco, I totally changed my mind. Spoke with the attorney, told him my story and how I felt about UI motorists. He thinks he may have to send out a P.I. on this guy since my claims adjuster couldn't get a hold of him. The attorney wants to find this guy before he thinks about leaving town. I'm happy that I decided to go with the attorney and hope this guys pays for what he's done.

On the pain side, it's worse....I can't stand or sit for a long period of time, my right arm has gone numb and I have a burning sensation pain in my lower back that shoots up my back, under the shoulder blade to the neck. I picked up my anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxers today and will be all drugged up tonight. I hate feeling this way, I have to be careful with lifting anything heavy (like my daughter) or exercising (damnit I wanted to play basketball on Sunday at the Tracy meet). Work has been uncomfortable and I hope to be able to enjoy myself at the Tracy meet.

Thanks for letting me share, but I'm sure I will have more info next week.

I had the adjuster come out and take a look at it and also fill me in on what's going with the "other driver".

The estimate for the bumper per my insurance is about $550, but that is just what she is seeing on the outside. :tap: I do plan on going to get estimates elsewhere on Friday, already have 2 places lined up.

And, thanks to some good advice from my fellow Scion peeps yesterday, I had Darrell take off the bumper for now (for safety precautions of course).

My insurance is trying to have the other driver cooperate with us, but he is refusing to make a statement until he clears things up with the rental place. The other driver is stating he did have insurance, but the rental place is saying he didn't get it. So another thing to stress about. :tap:

I am still sore and am tired emotionally and physically. Like I said before, a minor accident with major problems (other driver).

Thanks for letting me share with you all, it does mean a lot to me. I love this community and what it means...the love and support from everyone puts a smile on my face and makes me so proud to be a part of it.

To be continued...
