No need to remove the headliner. You can tuck the wire(s) under the edge.

You could also run it/them along the floor by popping off the door sills and other plastic panels. They all snap off.

I have personally run an XM antenna from the rear hatch to the front along the headliner, and like max stated no need to pull the headliner down, just tuck it in under the edges and down the apillar to where ever you need to go with it. Good luck and happy modding..

Thanks Proshop,

I should amend my post by saying that rearmost panels on the sides do not snap off, they are bolted in, and removing the rear seats is required.

I ran my XM along the headliner, just trying to give you options.

I just ran the XM antenna as per the instructions, and you pretty well take the whole right side of the car apart (both seats, all panels, doorsills). If I had thought of the headliner I think I would have gone that route. Great idea with the tucking. Also that XM antenna (the OEM one at least) has a very strong magnet in it. Place with care.

I work at best buy and am an installer. when i install them i run the wire throught the top liner...by removing the a/b/c pillars it makes it alot easier. You only need to run it at the very edge of the headliner! You also can just put the antenna right outside the driver door but it does look alot better in the rear of the car!

Be careful when running the wire it is VERY sensitive and hard pinches will break the antenna which is about $30 for a new one!

I had my antenna on the back hatch then I moved it down inside the passenger fog light housing is. there is not much difference in reception. it doesn't cut out really any more than it did plus you don't see the antenna and no scratching of the paint.
BTW I have Sirius.

yes, but in our xB's removing the b, c+d pillars is a major pain.

unbolt the rear seat
unbolt the upper part of the seat belts (front and rear)
unbolt the lower c+d part(requires an allen wrench)
pop off all the lower panels (requiers unbolting the lower bolt of the rear seatbelt)
pull back all the weatherstripping (front, rear, and hatch)
pop off all the upper panels, now that the lowers are out of there.

I ran both of mine through the doorsills up to the back panel by the speaker. Removed the allen screws back there. with a gentle tug, there was enough room to go ahead and tuck the wire in without removing the whole panel. Then fished the wire up to the rear of the box. Really easy to do. took me less than 20 mins to do so and no wire if visable except for the little bit that goes to the antenna itself.

The front seat was removed to mount the OEM XM tuner (as per their instructions), not to mount the antenna. I guess I stated that incorrectly.

i mounted the xm navtraffic behind the dash, a little sketchy but so far no problems. When installing my amps in a couple weeks i will take another look at everything and re-examine to make sure its all good.
