Default dash lights due to upgrades?

i did a few searches for a thread about this, no luck. My issue is i put in strup headers, elisper exhaust, (no problems) but last week i put in a K&N typhoon air intake, last few days the VCS, TRAC OFF, and check engine light shows up. i disconnected battery, checked connections, worked for a day, then they came back on. is this expected, or happen due to upgrades? basically , anyone else deal with this, and how?

Did the lights show up imediatley after you put the intake on or did you drive around a bit and then they came on? Also did you remove the battery from the vehicle when you installed the intake?

one of my other buddies said just for sure to check the gas cap. drove to work , lights still on. drove home, the whole way they didnt come on. puzzles me is why the vsc and trac off light were involved with that? oh well. ya, gas cap fixed it
