Can Scion TC be pushed 200 WHP N/A??
Hello to you all,Greetings from Puerto Rico,
This is my second post here and I know you could help me with your collective wisdom.I own a 2006 TC and im planning on modding it some time in the near future.I want more horsepower and pull as I dont complain a lot about this car's torque.I think 200 WHP would be enough for me if it could be done naturally aspirated.I know perhaps it can be done with aftermarket parts, but the problem is I dont want excessive loudness like that of an aftermarket exhaust with it.I would be happy adding a header, mid pipe with resonator(to reduce raspiness),high flow cats and everything else but a sports muffler because I dont want to have excessive outside or cabin sound(plus cops are a headache).I know 200 whp can be achieved with a turbo, but I dont wanna spend on an expensive kit that would go past because 200 or 210 HP because I know I would have to upgrade the stock clutch then.
So what can you guys suggest me?Is there anyway to achieve the 200 WHP or near it normally aspirated with just bolt on parts and without excessive sound other than of the headers, mid pipe and cat?Or is not possible to achieve this quantity because of the limitations of our engine stock?(I know it is an FE type engine versus a GE high revving unit). How much horsepower maximum can I possibly gain without adding some noisy part like an aftermarket muffler?I know also if I go the turbo way I would be spared of much of the noise versus horsepower in normally aspirated mode,so if theres any cost effective turbo alternative I would also appreciate if you could tell me about it.I would appreciate your comments, knowledge and suggestions about this doubt I have.

pullies........i ordered a full set of NST pullies, and they are claiming (like every other pulley company) 7-12 hp....
header, S pipe, intake (not sure which one is the best, but I hear injen is nice) and a cat back exhaust.....
you will still be shy of the 200 mark, but you will get some nice gains, Im with you on noise i dont want it to be too loud either....

DO NOT DO PULLIES, RESEARCH!
also, i replied earlier and so did someone else, and their gone. this sucks.
ill shorten it this time. DO FI. turbos act as a muffling defice, so without anything else, it will be quiet. the supercharger is almost 200 stock, and will keep your warranty for about 3500. na motors are loud, it is the sound of performance. to get a solid 200, youll need all the bolt ons, plus cams, higher compression pistons, a massaged head, and a tune. and a better clutch wouldnt hurt. but with this setup youll need premium, just like the s/c and t/c. and maitenence will be needed just as much. it will cost more, be louder, take more time, not warrantied,, need i go on? do yourself a favor, and buy the TRD SC.
