okay so heres the deal....i have dc headers which i could not get installed. i had them for 2 months and tried a couple times to get installed but always had trouble. read on here about installation and still could get them in. problem being the bottom left nut/bold. just could get it off and it started to strip. tried many ways to get it off buit nothing. so me and a buddy of mine were giving it another try yesterday and for like an hour and a half we could get it off. finally it calls a friend up who had been a mechanic for like 15 years and he says "try hold a lighter up to it for about a minute and it should losen the metal". we tried everything else so were like what the heck...well the fire worked!!! nut came right off after holding the lighter up to it for about a minute. so now they are on and am pretty satisfide. Just thought i would spread the word...when in doubt, try fire!!!!

Seems like that is the most trouble bolt for people during install, I'm taking that sucker out first when I do mine....

 

i never realy had an issue but the fire causes the metal to expand we did this on a fly wheel whe got a bolt stuck in but with an oxy ocetaline tourch but same effect ...... sort of

you don't know how lucky you are to be working on a new car. Most of my wrench hours have been on old jeeps and landcruisers, every bolt rust welded together. Spent way too many hours with pb blaster and a torch.

 

ehh we used the striopped nut remover from sears to get it off my freinds tC. it took us about 2hrs to get it off then another 20min to put it back on we had to call a friend who had the right remover for it.

 

PB blaster is the sizzle. I believe it alone saved my o2 sensor when doing my header install.

 

Is this pb blaster stuff more effective than wd40? I've never heard of it before.

 

pb blaster is way better than wd40... wd40 is crap... (and it turns to gum after it drys, so don't ever use it as a lubricant)

 

The bottom bolt wanst much trouble at all for me. I just sprayed everthing down with PB Blaster like 3 times every 5 minutes, and everything came off with out a hassle.

yes, PB is alot better than WD40.

 

wd40 also attracts dust!

 

Everything went smooth for me. I installed yesterday and the pb blaster stuff made it so much easier. My o2 sensor came out perfectly....I did manage to bend and break my oil dip stick and need a new one.....I hope its cheaper than buying a new 02 lol
