I am new to forced induction and xB's, I have done turbo's on VW's in the past though.

A few questions I have about putting a S/C on my xB. Keep in mind, I am doing a home-built system and most of my questions pertain to fueling and the computer.

1. Can I run 8-10psi on my stock fuel system without problems?
2. Does the xB have a return line fuel system?

Crap, I got a phone call while I was typing this and I am drawing a blank on my other questions.

Please, if you want to post in here, don't tell me to run a turbo instead I want to run a S/C. Most of the knowledge I need is in the fueling and computer systems so if you can fill me in on things I need to know that would be great.

Answer to #1 is i don't think so. By running the calculations with the known size of the injectors (220cc estimated I believe people here have said.. may be 200 even) that would produce enough fuel (at stock fuel pressure) to support about 130WHP tops @90+% duty cycle. This is using calculations based on engine displacement, fuel injector flow, etc. Not just a shot in the dark. I will be getting a scanner to watch the injector pulse width in MS soon and verify where we are at now and how much room we have. However, I do not believe the fuel will keep up with 8+psi on the stock injectors, or at least, to the level where a smart engine builder would be comfortable running as far as rich/lean.

2. No, it is a single feed with no return, as I said in my private message there is no rising rate FPR on this and one would have to be added with a return line to the fuel tank so that the pressure can be raised with raising boost levels. I am unsure if the actual fuel pump would need to be replaced, I have not found any hard evidence to say what it CAN, or CANNOT do.

As for the computer, there are no programmers available to rewrite the code directly. As far as I have found only the Greedy Emanage works well with this car and it is a piggyback unit.

I am working on a MAF sensor spoof setup to modify the MAF signal for use with larger injectors and keep the computer out all together. I still do not know *until I get my scanner* what kind of timing the ECU commands in it's current state. If it's way up there then it will need to be backed down (the emanage claims to be able to do this but I do not have first hand experience with that tool).

I'm rambling, anyway...

I have a friend that runs a shop fabricating and designing turbo systems. I'll talk to him about finding a way to maybe "flash" our computers to work with bigger injectors.
