it ended up being like 30 bucks for about 6 yards of it.. but i had a cupon for 50% off or whatever. it was 13 bucks a yard before the cupon. plus the glue so about 40 bucks. :D
You can find headliner material at almost any fabric store. They'll have a selection of colors, or at least they'll refer you to a website -- probably their company's -- to buy online. Try Joann Fabrics or similar. Here's the Joann site:
http://www.joann.com
I haven't bought from this one, but here's another site:
http://www.wesellupholsterysupplies.com
The adhesive is special -- you want to get the 3M stuff that SPECIFICALLY says it's for headliners (many of the others work temporarily, but the heat kills 'em after a while). Some auto parts stores carry the good adhesive, and some fabric stores do, too.

Heres A couple of places for suede hides and splits:
The Leather Factory ,Tucson ,AZ.
brettunsvillage.com
Brettuns is pretty reasonable ,and they've never done me wrong
You might want to consider using an imitation suede so you can clean it, the upholstery suppliers carry a microfiber immatation suede that you would swear is the real thing , and it forms better , and is lighter and thinner, my wife and I did our dinning room chairs in it and it looks awesome and is very easy to work with and sew if necessary................
