View Full Version : caliper decals? loOoFenixTxoOol 03-29-2006, 01:20 AM does anyone know where i can get any for my calipers, i just painted them and they need a little something more and i think that a white scion or trd decal would be just the thing. Any one know of any? ack154 03-29-2006, 01:24 AM Any vinyl shop should be able to make something for you. Probably pretty cheap. itstdt 03-29-2006, 05:22 AM Randode will help Neothin 03-29-2006, 01:44 PM would a vinyl shop be able to make something that could deal with all the heat created by the calipers? ack154 03-29-2006, 02:29 PM Anything else you find out there will be the just the same kind of sticker. I don't think you're going to find any "high temp" decals that would be much different than anything Randode or others would make. loOoFenixTxoOol 03-29-2006, 02:44 PM alright ill give randode a message thanks amanda776 08-07-2006, 03:47 AM What about these? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ALFA-TRD-M3-BMW-BREMBO-BRAKE-CALIPER-BODY-DECAL-STICKER_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ50448QQihZ001QQitemZ110017348857QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW tc2nut4 08-07-2006, 01:43 PM i think what you're going to want to do is get a vinyl made with what you want cut out. Sort of like those letter stencils from way back in the day like kindergarden and what not lol. You're going to want to paint on the logo utilizing a stencil for two reasons: 1) a vinyl WILL NOT hold up to the heat 2) It won't peel or anything like the vinyl would and it'll look more professional amanda776 08-08-2006, 08:17 AM What if you stick the vinyl on there and then coat it with some type of clear coat? tc2nut4 08-08-2006, 11:54 AM doubt it will work still. You see break dust is very very hard to clean, and keep in mind that you have to have whatever you're adhering the vinyl too almost perfetly clean or it will peel off. And clear coat wont help as far as holding up to the heat. I think your best bet is the stencil idea IMO.. But hey give the vinyl a shot and let us know how it works. petergallegos26 10-16-2006, 03:03 AM WHAT ABOUT THIS http://www.vinzdecals.com/createcaliper.html tc2nut4 10-16-2006, 07:17 PM wow... blast from the past lol cherryBox 10-16-2006, 07:24 PM WHAT ABOUT THIS http://www.vinzdecals.com/createcaliper.html here's what you do... 1) buy those. 2) paint your callies white. mainly worry about the soon-to-be decal area. 3) allow to dry, and lay the vinyl down. 4) paint the whole caliper the color of your choice 5) allow to dry 6) remove the vinyl * use high-temp paint! Frosty355 10-16-2006, 08:33 PM Good Idea CherryBox. We have guys out here that have had vinyl on their Drums and calipers for alomst a year now (white even!) they look fine still. PnZrFsT 10-16-2006, 11:57 PM I used the stuff from VHT for my calipers and it worked perfect amanda776 10-17-2006, 12:03 AM What if you stick the vinyl on there and then coat it with some type of clear coat? I did that and I think it turned out very good... here's a pic: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a191/sciontcgirl/Calipers%20and%20Hoses/100_0033.jpg eLpReSiDeNtE 10-17-2006, 01:49 AM ^^^^pretty good!!!......better then spending 800+ on a big brake kit!......drill sum holes on ur rotor and ur good to go!....lol amanda776 10-17-2006, 02:08 AM Hmmmm.. I wasn't aware that TRD made a big brake kit. BLUEMEANIE 10-17-2006, 09:29 PM 1) a vinyl WILL NOT hold up to the heat Sure it will. I had a cheap vinyl toyotanation sticker on the valve cover of a 7A-FE for almost 2 years and it didn't change one bit. ...and the valve cover gets WAY hotter than the calipers. njdan69 10-24-2006, 08:58 AM ^^^ that was a joke rite? ^^^ |
