i know everyone is going to be excited about putting a deposit down and telling what options they got, so please keep it to this one thread. much like everyone got annoyed with the hot lava threads (including myself and i own one) i would like to try and keep everyone happy here. in an effort to stay ahead of the crowd i created this thread

if you put a deposit down on a tC, this is your place to showoff and feel lucky because a lot of people want one. tell us what you plan to do with it now and/or what you added for the purchase

I dont wanna offend anybody or discourage you from putting down a deposit, but why have so many of you done it? With all the mishaps about colors coming up, and the fact that i dont see some accessories on release (correct me if im wrong) including the AEM CAI. Why not just wait for some tests to be done and the accessories (and prices) to get straightened?

I wonder who'll be getting the intrest earned on your deposits if you should decide you don't want the car.

for me it'll be better to have the car when it first comes out instead of being on a waiting list for a couple of months.

My car I'm driving now is about ready to go through the mid life crisis )needs a new AC & the suspention is going)

This car will be the hotest thing to hit the market since ummm the XB ummm yeah

& seriously, how much interest will $500 gain in 2 months? (no answers needed)

i just came back from my local dealer and was told that they were not accepting deposits on tc's. are they full of cr@p?

edit: nevermind, looking at the thread on availibility i am assuming that this particular dealer will be low on the totem pole in terms of new tc's they will recieve. judging from the apparent limited stock they have on hand of regular scions.

just contacted another dealer and they said they will call me back. man i hate that!

If that dealer won't let you, go to another.
Last nite I put my deposit down. Hopefully the Side-Airbags dont hold it up.
This was the second dealer I dealt with. FIrst dealer wanted a "Pre-order agreement" basically not letting me turn the car down if I didnt like it. Told me it was "Toyota Policy". That was a load of crap...and because he lied, he lost my business.

i'm in sacramento, ca.. called dealer and placed an preordered for a tC and they asked if I wanted to put deposit.. I asked if I didn't like the car can I get my deposit back.. She said yes, in CA.. theres laws against not getting ur deposit back or something.. So I put down deposit using my CC over the phone. I hope she isn't just bsing me about CA laws prevent against not getting deposit back.

My tC should be in my possession the last week of June, according to my dealer. I'll be sure to post my pics when I get it.

Silver Streak Mica
Spoiler
Door Sill Enhancements
Interior Illumination
Center Console Armrest
Fog Lights

Mods to come:

Supercharger (duh! .. 55hp for 3k? .. good deal to me)
Catback Exhaust
Sport springs
In-dash DvD/CD player with flip up screen (if it will fit, I don't like cutting)
H.I.D. lighting

I put my deposit down back in the beginning of may and according to my dealer I was the only one to do it so I "should" get the first one that rolls onto their lot thats for sale.
But since I got the optional side impacted air bags it looks like I'm going to get screwed over and have not heard from my dealer about when it looks like my car is coming in.

Once I get my car (hopefully by the end of this month) I don't plan on doing much to it for the first couple of months.

So car as I get it:

Silver Streak Mica
Manual
Side impacted air bags

Future mods:

Fog lamps
TRD springs and shocks
supercharger
exhaust
cool air intake

Probably some other stuff, though I will probably not be getting a spoiler because I see no point to it and I will not be getting any body mods because I really like having a sleeper car.

Put a $250 deposit down yesterday on a Black Cherry tC with Automatic and the security system. Wanted a T/C super bad, but in college and can't afford now :( . If I come into any money or find a better part-time or a reasonable full-time position somewhere else, I'm def putting one on. Wanted the speaker, but didn't think it was quite worth the $429 (or $329, can't remember) they're charging here. Just excited to get the car when it finally comes in. They originally said (been calling there for over a month checking into it) that the car would be available mid/late June, but now they're saying mid/late July. Just can't wait to finally get it!!!

im not sure what to say... will it be custom made for your tc. one thing i know is that, if mugen made a exhaust, it shouldnt be that large of a diameter. more like a 2.5 inch would sound bit more precise. and how much would it cost you anyways? mugen exhaust is a ton more expensive then TRD at least 2 times as much

yeah, a friend's dad owns a muffler shop. pretty sure they were just going to do a custom exhaust. I explained what I wanted and he mentioned mugen as an expensive possibility. That's the sort of sound I'm looking for, not wanting the flatulous oval can muffler sound, if ya know what i mean.. I put a deposit down on a silver streak mica 5-speed tC with sab as soon as was possible (way back in April).

Now I am hearing that the dealership (American Toyota in Albuqerque, NM) screwed up that order! I was the only person with money down on a tC and their only tC in June was meant for me. They got the color wrong (Indigo Ink Pearl) and they added a 6-CD changer (useless to me as the stock stereo is unacceptable in any form -- No IP-BUS on a Scion's Pioneer stereo). They appologized but gave me the excuse that they added the options that most people would want! Geez, adding options to a special order and screwing up the color (though the color thing doesn't bother me too much). F'ing rediculous! :x

Anyway, still ____ed at them. It is totally unacceptable but I am still getting the car. The color actually looks pretty good on the Corolla S :). Plus this is the only tC in their June allocation and I don't want to wait another month.

Anyone else order a tC and find out that the dealer added unwanted options??

i would stick to TRD if i were you, some might say it would be "ricey" to mount that muffler on. TRD exhaust sound real nice though. my cousin has one on his V6 camry 5spd. its not annoying at all. if you heard it you would agree as well. does not sound like a 2.4L lawnmower at all

its just my opinion that you should stick with companies that develop products for the Tc. it doesn't look right if you have like Mugen exhaust, Nismo header, Spoon Sports shifter, etc. you know what i mean, but whatever you decide to do. good luck

I put down a $200 Deposit at a Scion Dealer in Sacramento 10 days ago for a black cherry pearl 5-speed tC. They got in their first one, a black cherry pearl auto, last Friday. With the demand for the car the guy who bought it had to agree to have it stay as a demonstrator until they get another Friday. Having seen a silver one, and while keeping in mind color is a personal thing, I can't understand why so many want silver. The black cherry color is sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet. I was very impressed and being far older than most of you'all on this forum and having purchased a number of cars and SUV's I have to say this is a well put-together car. Tall people will have to test sit in it though. I'm 5-7 so it fits me.

Fit and finish on the interior is very nice.

I'm choosing the side airbags so I realistically am expecting my car in mid-July. Grats to those that have theirs already.

You guys should hear the B.S. Capitol Scion of San Jose told me today!
I asked to test drive a tC and the salesman Thomas Hartmann told me that the tC would take 6 months to get one. I looked at him like what do you think I am some dipsh@t.

I left and went home and called Stevens Creek Scion of Santa Clara and asked them if I would have to wait 6 months to get a tC. The salesmans response was no, it would only take 15 days after the day I order one.

So anyone who lives in Northern California, stay clear of Capitol Toyota/Scion and especially Thomas Hartmann they cannot be trusted.

I went to the dealer today, but I didn't put the deposit down, because my parents weren't there, and I'm leaving for China/Vietnam tomorrow.

I told the guy what I wanted, and he wrote it down on those dealer papers...

05 Flint Mica Scion tC 5-Speed

Wheel locks, rear spoiler lip, 6-disc cd changer.

I'm still contemplating the 6-disc cd changer, but chances are I'm going to end up getting it. I calculated it all out to a lil over $19k out the door. My calculations are probably wrong but yeah, we'll see.

I put down a $500 refundable deposit on a flint/indigo tC in San Diego over in Mossy Scion...no preference for auto/manual.

I just wanted to add that my experience with Scion dealers has been extremely varied to say the least. This is my first time buying a new car, and I did a LOT of research before I decided on the tC. So i put my mind to it to get one right away, since my car right now is bout to kick the bucket. Called around San Diego, and Mossy Scion said there estimates were 2 weeks to a month in gettin one, with a deposit.

They were pretty nice, but since i was headed up to the Bay area to visit the folks, decided to try my luck there too. Had my bro call around, and man, he got 20 diff stories from 10 diff dealers. Some said 6 months, some said a week, some said they would do some 3-way dealer trade to get a white one, some said they there is no deposit, that i would just "build it" first and get it in 45 days. Some offered me to sell me the demo if it could stay on the lot until they get their first shipment in. Some called the other scion dealers "full of BS" and not following Scion "certification." Suffice to say, none of them left a good impression, in particular the Capitol Scion (which i think someone already mentioned). These two salesmen there contradicted themselves at least 3 times in regards to the deposit. Tired of all this BS, i just decided to wait the 2-6 weeks and get it in SD.

Do i just have bad luck, or is this everyone else's experience too dealing with Scion (at least in the Bay Area)? What exactly is the official word on deposits?

I put a depost down on a silver 5-speed. I am really happy. :D I was worried I was not going to be able to get the tC. I was planning on getting a new car in about a year, but my Camry's transmission went out. I have had alot of things go my way. I got a low rate on my loan (3.75%), I got 3 times what I was expecting to get for my old Camry, and my parents are going to help me out some so I dont have so much to pay for in college. I still want to pay them back, even though they do not want me too.

Put down the deposit right after the test drive, back around the 18th. Without even so much as a clue what they were alloted in the first shipment, I requested a flint 5spd. I get a call later that day: Theres one, repeat, only one 5spd coming, and its in flint mica. I never luck out on anything, and this happens.. must be fate.

They just got it in and I filled out all the paperwork today. Most likely I will have it by this weekend.

ordered:

Flint Mica 5spd
-security
-6 cd hu
-wheel locks
-mats

$500 down on a stock Flint Mica 5-speed. I'll wait on mods later considering aftermarket is almost always cheaper than dealer installed mods...although, I do like the idea of the TRD supercharger under warranty :D

6-10 week wait on my car though :!:

$500 down on a Black Cherry Pearl manual with no side airbags. They said it should be in by the end of the month, it's expected to be at the port this week.

We didn't pick out options yet, but all of their cars (Newark Scion World (http://www.newarkscionworld.com)) are coming in with nothing more than floor mats. I'll probably get the 6-disc, subwoofer, mats and maybe the 18"s. I'm also thinking about the amber under dash and cupholder lights (but don't tell anybody  .)

TRD 18"s or the regular Scion 18"s? Did they give you a price?

actually, the sales dude called me this morning and i'm stuck with the 17" stock, which aren't bad and also gives me the option to get the lowering springs.

he told me i could get all the options I wanted, so I did... the tires were the only ones he could'n't get.

he updated me on the eta of the car. I won't see it until the end of this month or beginning of August :(

My parents got me a tC for my 18th birthday, they wanted to get one with side airbags though so the dealer had to track one down and it should be here within 1-3 weeks.

New to the forum.. I paid the $500 deposit at Power Scion of Cerritos this last Friday. I'm soo anxious!!! Black Sand Pearl, auto, with no options. I've been calling everyday since then and answers have varied so much. Last week, they said a few days. Yesterday, they said Thursday. I called today and they said Saturday's the earliest.. What's going on? Has anybody else put a deposit down at Cerritos? I just sold my car today so I really need this tC! :x

Ordered my Flint Mica AT 2 days ago with no deposit from J. Pauley Scion in Fort Smith, Arkansas. I have a great salesman, he told me I didn't have to put the deposit down because I'm financing through my Credit Union and would be too much of a hassle to get the refund.

I just put my deposit down today on a Flint Mica AT (I'm too lazy and drive through too much daily traffic for a manual) tC
Accessories: Exhaust, Spoiler Lip, Floor Mats, Amber LED Lights, Security (I know, I could go cheaper with aftermarket, but oh well), side airbags, strut tie bar, and as soon as the dealership gets it in, i'm getting the lowering springs and shocks and struts.

I put down a deposit this past thursday, but I have just one question, how many of you completed the financing paperwork at the time you ordered the car or are you waiting till you actually take delivery of the vehicle. I ask because my dealer was trying to get me to complete all the paperwork when i ordered it. but i didnt bite.

Put a 1K deposit on a Flint Mica 5spd with TRD exhaust and wheel locks. Waiting for foglights and rear clear light assembly. Hopefully will arrive in 2-3 weeks.

I put down a $500 deposit (that was never cashed) on a 5sp IIP w/ airbags, floor mats, nothing else, in early June. I just got my car today, and didn't mind the wait.
