I just picked up my Tc about two weeks ago and I had an factory alarm installed at the dealership. I did not get an owners manual but I figured out how to turn it on. Is there some sort of shock sensor I can turn on? because I can sit there and shake, and tap and rock my car and the alarm does not go off. Does the factory alarm only protect against forced entry? If so I am going to upgrade soon I don't want anybody messing with my car. If this is the case what should I do to upgrade? Any suggestions?

 

The sticker on the side of your window is the alarm. If a crook sees that sticker, they will not want to mess with your car.

rip out scion alarm, install viper or other quality DEI alarms...

 

i hate shock sensors, namely mistuned shock sensors. just know that with an aftermarket alarm you will have your big key and the alarm clicker on your keychain. Maybe you can get a replacement key with the chip in it but no keyless entry buttons from the dealer?
