Rear fog lamp. what do you think?
I was going to do this on my old Integra, but never got around to it.
Its an OEM rear fog lamp from European market Honda Civics (EK) and Integras (DC2).
In case you didnt know, most European countries require a rear fog lamp. The fog lamp is placed on the same side as the driver. I think England is the only country that has it on the right side since theyre RHD. In most cases the rear fog is incorporated into the taillights, but some cars imported into Europe have it externally added in.
I dont have a problem using parts from another vehicle manufacturer (Honda). This light is made by Stanley.
What do you guys think? I'm not sure it'll look right on the tC.

Added to USDM Hondas.

Are you talking about what the R34's have on either side of the license, one is reverse, other is this "red light" apparently similar to the lights you are talking about on the Honda's? Not sure what they're for, and honestly, I thought it was a reflector of some sort.
State Farm insurance hands out reflective stickers and they tell you to place it on the drivers side. It's supposed to be in case the main lights go out and it's low enough where the headlights will for sure hit it.
Thats where I got that idea from.

in really thick fog, this will let other drivers know there is a car ahead of them. not really functional in america, which is why we dont have them. lol.
i noticed some US spec Audis and Mercedes come with the rear fog function (housed in the taillamp).
American BMW and VW owners mod their taillights to get the rear fog function.
Here it is on a RHD European Integra (probably UK). Factory rear fog and semi-clear taillights.

For reference: Rear fogs on a European 240sx (they call it a 200sx). I've seen some people put these on their US spec 240's.

Its not JDM. Its European.
Its a Honda part.
It cannot be JDM if its not a OEM JDM Toyota part.
My ex-gf drove a mid-90s quattro. we thought the button just made the brakes light up and we used it to ward off tailgaters. when i saw another audi with just the single light lit up, i realized it was for fog and thought it was a great idea. i'm always watching my rear view mirror when it's foggy out so people don't rear end me.
So, if you can make it aesthetic, do it and post pictures!!

Never really understood the one red/one white light on the back of European cars.
I think that in America we should add something to cars that is similar. Instead of having the light for fog, we should use it to light up (very brightly) when the brakes are depressed to a certain level, where it would set off a sensor. This way, traffic behind would know that you were hitting the brakes hard... which is something that is needed in America.

no HK you should not do it, not that you shouldnt more that you cant...im gonna do that, because i always liked the look of it and it looks really clean. however seeing that you have a white car it might not look so good...but on a darker color car it would, because the trim around the light is black. im trying to go Jspec on my car..not JDM. but IMHO it would look good, but look for the super rare ones with the red trim instead of black. or just get a white light instead of red..some do that too. theres a teggy by my house, 2 blocks that has a rear fog, but he also has red rims ;)
Try to source the JDM/EDM rear foglight for the Honda del Sol. Good shape, and no big surround on it, so it would mount more "smoothly". Here's a pic of the light mounted in a samba green filler panel:

i think u should just keep it clean.. if its not funcional or meant to be there dont bother..
function > form anyday.. your car looks fine the way it is. invest in power mods.. you will be more happy at the end then a 10 dollar light that flashes red in the fog lol.
