Default Metra 95-8202 Double- Din Kit

Just wanted to let everyone know that Circuit City now stocks the Metra 95-8202 Double-din Dash kit for $19.99+ tax if applicable. There have been many post asking where they can get this dash kit, so if you have a C.C. near you just go pick it up and then no shipping is required. It is not yet available on there website, but when it is i will let you know. I took a couple of pics of it so if there was anybody who hadn't seen it yet or need to know what packaging looked like. Hope this helps anybody that needs this dash kit and sorry the pics arent that good( i took it with my cell phone), i will try to get some with my digital.

Their single-din kit sucks. I had it in my car and the thing decided to break after about a year. I went out to my car one day and my head unit was crooked because 3 of the tabs had broken off.

Yeah i used that single-din kit yesterday in a TC and the brackets are kind a flimsy, but it works. The double din kit is very nice thou, i'll see if i can borrow a double-din radio tommorow and get some pics of the kit installed.

I've had mine in for a year and a half with 2 different radios in the same kit. the radio I have now is HEAVY, the JVC flip out. one thing I did is use a backstrap on the radio and attach it to the screw above the radio with the bezel off. it gives the back end support and it might relieve the stress on the kit.

Here are some pics of a double-din install with the Metra 95-8202 kit being used.

I used an Eclipse double-din for this install, i wonder who this was made for hmmm, you can see they both have toyota harness plugs, so it plugs right in to our factory wiring.

A couple of screws to hold the factory bracket and the side filler pieces to the new radio.

A comparison of the two radio's.

Radio mounted in place, before dash placed back on.

The completed look of double- din with kit.

Yes sir it will, aslong as you still have the factory brackets to us, a double-din or two single dins can be used.

tC question, not sure if you'll know or not...but, Do you think the holes will have to be re-drilled to get the eclipse 5435 unit to fit back far enough, like you have to do to the factory bracket?

There is a note in the instruction booklet for this kit about TC's and xA's, it states you will need to cut off the front upper section of the trim plates. This maybe to help space it out, im not 100% sure on that. Maybe i can get viloent_b to chime in on this since he works at Metra. I'll get some pics of this part of the instructions and post them up later.
