Default making jdm style lights

Just curious if anyone has tried this, but I have a set of the chargespeed eyelids and of course they only fit on the rounded jdm headlights. Has anyone taken a set of the cheap ebay lights with the smooth glass lens and removed it from the housing and tried putting it over their stock lights or a better set of projectors like the anzos? I think it could be a cheaper alternative to purchasing jdm housings and i'm sure that fogging won't be a problem if you reseal them properly (i just used silicone gasket sealer on my stock lights after clearing them and they held up).

I've thought about that too, but never tried it. A friend has the projectors, and I noticed the way the lexan lens part attaches to the housing looks very similar to the stock lights. Worth a shot.

You could also retrofit the projectors with HID's, which would be brighter than the stockers...
