Default alpine, infinity, phoenix gold, JBL

once my amp comes in i plan to be putting together my system, these are the parts i will be using:

Stock Head Unit
4RCA out adapter for head unit
4x 6.5inch infinity kappa 6.35i (75watt rms)
2x Alpine T230 (2x2ch = 4speakers)
Phoenix Gold 15.0.1 (500-1000w rms)
12'' JBL Power Seris sub (free from friend)
1 Farad Monster Capacitor
4 Channel Monster 401XLN RCA
16AWG Monster speaker Cable
2x500 watt Monster Amp Kit
2x Y connectors

my amp for my sub will arrive on tuesday, and hopefully i can set it up the same day, anyways my question is, do i need anything else to install this into my 06 tC?

i plan to take the Y connectors, to split the 2 of the rca's into 4, so i can have a total of 6 RCA's, 2 for my Sub amp, and 4 for my speaker amps, (btw if you h avnt noticed i am a noob, and this is my first install) , do i think i will need 2 additional RCA to go to my sub amp,

any help would be appreciated

You will need 3 sets of RCAs, (6 RCAs total) Front, Rear and sub. That said your amp may have a pass through so you do not need to use a Y-splitter. Some anps have this and some do not. I am not sure if either of those particular amps will have it.

With the amount of money that you have invested, I would go ahead and purchase a new HU to increase the sound quality. Honestly amplifying the stock HU is never a great idea, especially on the highs.

There's nothing to gain by switching the stock deck. It is too bad that your amps need that capacitor to make them work properly though.

well the only reason i am keeping my stock deck is because i like to use the hand controls on the steering wheel, does anyone know if any pioneer deck will be compatiable with my hand controls on the tC?, i might force my friend to give me back my alpine cda 9827 deck, because it sounded awesome when i had just the deck and the speakers( because of the 4v preamp), the pioneer deck im looking at is about 300 bucks, and i will need to wait another month to save enough money for that deck....

Eclipse will work with the steering wheel controls outta the box. With Other decks you need a PAC thats made so that you can use the controls.

not so much...

with a good deck replacement you can gain much more control and clarity to your system.... and with a deck with high volt pre outs you can get even better sound than you ever could with high to low converters..

if you want to keep your steering wheel controls... just get a PAC swix piece... that way you can keep your steering controls... but get the added bonus of a new deck...

I am pretty sure that all the eclipse decks work. I have no looked into the new lineup, but I have read on here that your best bet may be to look into last year's lineup

well i believe i will just put in my system with the stock deck, and if it sounds decent i'll just keep it, but if it sounds horrible i will upgrade to either an eclipse, alpine, or pioneer premeer deck, i'll take some pictures and upload tonight

I think that you will notce the lack of a quality HU, especially when amping the highs

I'm looking at a pioneer DEH-P880PRS. I found it on either etronics or techronics for less than 350 shipped. It's regarded as a nice SQ headunit. couple of rca outputs, 22rmsx4, L/R 16 band Equalizer, auto equalizer feature, auto time alignment feature, and it's ready to add on all sorts of features. check it out sometime

Just wanted to let you guys know that i decided to get the Pioneer DEH-P80MP, it was a closeout (discontinue) model at fry's electronics, there was 2 left, and the guy was nice and gave me the new one, and he bought the display model, anyways i paid 199.99 + tax = 215bucks!!! for a deck that price it rocks! oh yeah, the only thing bad about it so far is that the rca's come in a cable plug-in adapter and not a direct plug in jack... i will install my full setup tomarrow, let you guys know whatsup and maybe some pictures!

it took me awhile, but i only got the two front speakers in, im planning to mount the other 2 speakers, 3 amp,s and sub all together tomarrow, im so busy with school and work, the only days i can do it, are friday's, anyway a friend told me that i wil need to put all my ground cables on one side, and all my rca's and speaker cable on another side... im assuming that the ground cable goes on the left side, and everything else on the right side? correct me if im wrong..

thanks

power cable-->drivers side

rca's --> passenger side

you could do the opposite as well, but this is best since the battery is on the drivers side and you will have less wiring to run under the hood.

my next question is, yesterday when i was running the power cable, i didnt see any hole to run from the inside to the battery inside my hood, my friend told me to just drill it, and i almost had a heart attack, i dont want to drill a hole in my wifey unless i have to..

any suggestions?

You can run the power cable through the opening behind the steering wheel under the dash. There will be a rubber surround with wires going through it. There is plenty of room for a power cable.

im pushing 4x27 watts from the deck, 4x75watts from speakers, and 400watt sub, (all rms of course)

about 700 watts rms

yea.. the guys at fry's try to pry my cd out, but it was stuck in there pretty good, anyways i cant exchange it because its discontinued, the next model up was 419.99, for a pioneer deh p7800mp, (color OLED screen w/ 5v preamp and 16eq), they offered it to me for a price of $349... i dont know if i should take it or not... if i do decide to take it, i have until friday, that head unit isnt going anywhere, if not then i can return it, and use my money to buy the same head unit at bestbuy for 279.99...

my question for you, sci_tc_guy (your so awsome), is, do you think that deck is worth additional 150 bucks from what i paid?

originally i paid 199.99 for the pioneer p80mp, they are now offering me the P7800mp for 349.99, the only main difference i see is the 5v preamp, on the 7800, and the color OLED screen,

is the color OLED screen worth 150 bucks more?
