Default 12V

I want to have a constant source and a ign source under the dash, I was thinking of having some sort of dist. block for each one so with future mods I would have a single point to go to, the constant should be easy, a wire (should it be fused) from the batt. to the dist. block and second the ign source to a block which comes to my question of what is a good source to tap from I was reading about the two open spots in the fuse block one a constant and the other was ign source I think, would that be a good place to tap from or is there a better place or no place or is this whole idea bad and just scrap the whole thing thanks for any input

depending on how much power you want to draw, the two spots at the fuse box would work, but if you want more draw I would run a line from the battery through the firewall.

thanks for the reply, for the constant source that is what I'm going to do, I was more concerned with the ign source and where to get that from sometimes you only want power when the key is turned thanks again

You can use the heavy guage ignition wires in the dash to hookup what ever you want to work when you have the key on. Just make sure what you are hooking up isn't going to draw to much power and blow the factory fuse, and make sure you fuse what ever you hook to the ignition wires( dont want to start any fires if somthing grounds out). But i have a lot of things in my car running of these ignition wires and have no problems. Hope this helps. Here's is a link to a thread that has pretty much every wire color you will need in the car.
