Default Any S/C or turbo kits reliable for daily driver.

Has anyone installed a S/C or turbo kit that performed well but was still reliable enough for daily driving. I travel for work daily and thought the Xb would be a great choice for my vehicle but the lack of power, engine screaming at 80mph and the road noise are driving me nuts. I thought I would try some dynamat to cut down on the noise and look at forced induction before I just sell the box. Any any suggestions.

For ease of installation, price and power gains you can't beat the Greddy Supercharger. There are a couple site sponsors that sell the kit as well as tons of online vendors. It comes with a preprogrammed emanage so you don't even technically need to have it tuned after the install.

Have you guys done hard launches with these? I hear people say on this site with about 150hp you'll break axles. I know these do about 130 with the supercharger, but still... I want to get one, but I don't to have to go beefing up every other part on the drive train for a little more performance. Would you say the power is noticable? If you were to compare it's acceleration performance, what kind of car would you say it's like? Lastly, where in the RPM range do you see/feel the most gains?

Sorry for all the questions, but I am seriously interested in getting one.

I used to break Intrgra axles all the time...never broke a Scion axle... I have never had a 10" slick on a Scion either!

How about gas mileage after the turbo install. When I spoke with Greddy they said the S/C was only for the auto trans, I have the 5spd ( wish it had 6 spd).

I just called thier tech support yesterday and they told me they have never done the software for the manual trans. Most of the places I have seen them for sale list auto trans for the S/C. You got me, I would rather have a S/C.

Last question. I'm relatively new to auto mechanical work and moddding. But, I'm a big do-it-yourselfer. Is this something I can do myself? I mean, with a SC, it's pretty much bolt on. And since the Greddy comes with e-manage already tuned, it's plug an play. Am I correct? Nothing a Saturday and Six pack couldn't cure, no?

I really appreciate all your answers and time.

Don't tell me that... I have a MT. Can't I just get the e-manage tuned for MT? Is it necessary?

I think Eight08customs (Marshall) might have a MT, not 100% sure, but worth a try.

I have the Greddy s/c on my MT. The car runs fine with no CEL. Builds boost and pulls hard. I drive it every day and havent had an issue.

I have had mine on for about a week and a half but have driven over a thousand miles already with it. I have been beating the heck out of it too without a problem...
