The standard radio for the tc (without ipod controls) is pretty lacking in terms of radio reception. It's not horrible but I get more static than any other car I've had or been in. I'm not looking to upgrade to an aftermarket unit but I was wondering if the upgraded pioneer head unit with the ipod controls has any better reception?

i wouldn't think reception would matter for a different HU...

i have the ipod radio... its nothing all too fancy.. kinda wish i had the regular one sometimes... :loser:

the two best parts about the ipod upgrade, other than ipod connectivity, are the knobs for the volume and such... and the color changer.

everyone _____es about the buttons for volume, so the knobs should be a decent upgrade...

I have the iPod head unit. To be honest, I don't know what the reception is like because I never listen to the radio. Why would I? I have an iPod! Commercials, dead zones, tunnels, interferance....radio is so 1990's!
