I tried searching but could only find info on installing clear side markers. I haven't looked at my markers to see if it is possible to pop them open and use some silver metallic reflector tape verses the red tape? or is it sealed?

The stockers are completely sealed. You're only option is another light altogether... mine are euro Altima lights. Accord bumper lights have been used as well. There's a how-to in the tech section on how to do the Altima swap... mine are a little different as they have LED's instead of 194's.

Man, I work for Nissan Tech Center North America and my engineers can't even find any old side markers from their supliers. Is a junk yard my only hopes of find some clear side markers?? This is crazy!

Are the 89-94 240sx side markers the same as the 93-97 Altima side markers?

now depending on what state your in, you wont be able to modify those, since it is a reflector and a red light.

but thatvaries from state to state. i do know it has to be red though as its a rear side marker. the bulb anyway if your state doesn't require the reflector
