Default Question: Boost gauge and VSV

I'm currently using a defi boost gauge, and there is a lot of chatter going on when the engine is warm at idel. Is this normal? I can hear the vsv, it makes crazy ticking noises when I'm stopped and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

Ok, we've established the sound is normal and the valve is doings it's job, but should it create so much instability in the vaccum?? My gauge bounces +5 to -5 to the beat of that tick. Are there any boost gauges out there that might filter that out?
