Firewalls, Amps, and things
Hey folks,
I have read a ton of posts so far on installing amps and subs and whatnot, but I have some rather specific questions. When runnning through the firewall I've heard mention of a firewall plug that allows easy passthrough of cable into the interior. Where is the damnable thing. I know there are grooves for running wire under the carpeting and such so thats not an issue. Ive been looking at using hi-lo converters to pull the signal off the HU, but again I've heard mention of a specific component that brings the line power up to 4 volts. Im a bit timid about the whole deal, since I havent done an install on anything other than my old POS 88 Ram van. If anyone can give me good description of this mysterious plug and a link to this component I'd appreciate it.

Hey man,
Take a look at this PDF file. This are the instructions for installing a Cruise Control but if you take a look at page 4 you will see the plug that you are talking about. This "plug" is where the original wiring is ran from the engine bay to the inside of our car. Personally I decided not to run my amp wire trough there...I drilled trough the firewall and used a bushon sp?? Hope this helps you....
