Default TYC OVERLAYS **PICS** (56K GO AWAY)

okay so i put them on, and the pics arent that great, but whatevers... here they are.

let me tell you though, i was very unsatisfied when i got the overlay cuz i thought it was just vinyl..but once i pulled it off it was soo much better, it was actually clear. i put it on, it was hard let me tell you, i kinda had a hard time. all in all i love them, however if you look to the side, you can still see the orange. I LOVE THEM.

only complaint : could have been cut a little straighter, and it would have been better if it flowed with the orange.

Disclaimer: anyone can use these pics for anything..as long as its positive

Looks great! As far as cutting it straighter, I played around with the cuts for a while when I was test fitting it. It all depends on the way you flatten it out is how the vinyl will finaly settle. If you work from tyhe middle out, it should line up ok. Nowm the part about the orange showing on the side. You have to have a compromise here. If you make the overlay bigger, it will cover the amber from an extreme angle, however, if you look at it stright ahead, it looks like the cut was too big! So once again, you have to compromise. Nice job!

Looks good.

I still can't figure out why TYC put amber turn signals in there. They could have at least left it clear and put amber bulbs. Oh well.

i agree, they really should have done a better job in how they made these, too much chrome, and the orange and the fact that the whole thing is not LED kills it for me.
something like the 05 3 series BMW would have been clean.

but to each there own, the overlats are an improvement

you can get these overlays from the guy who posted right after you.. BLUE BATMOBILE.

and as far as the overlays, i LOVE THEM..i guess my heart was set on not liking them yesterday so i tried to find every problem i could. and i suck at putting on vinyl, but these were put on kinda easy.. i will be buyin the red overlay that cover the LED part as well, and then imma smoke them out as a whole and then do someething special

lets just say imma have the most unique taillights on here

It looked "cleaner" before.. now it looks like you stuck a sticker over it.

wow..that was uncalled for..

but i like it alot now, and have got tons of compliments already from tc owners. i also try to park next to tC's with tyc's just so they can see what they can look like.

and about the emblem..its easy:
1. remove emblem from rear panel
2.take a piece of automotive vinyl..which ever color you prefer
3. trace inside of the emblem on to the back of the vinyl..just the outer edges of the emblem's inside
4. cut the vinyl to shape, doesnt have to be perfect, ill take a pic of how mine looks now that i dont have an emblem...its more of a DUMB oval than a circle. the outer edges of the logo will cover it.
5. place the vinyl onto the car
6. place the emblem on top of the vinyl
7. sit back and enjoy the $3 dollar mod you just did

I wasnt knocking you in any way...
Im glad that youlove it. Thats all that matters.
I just dont know why peole hate the amber so much? They are most likely people who had "riced" out civics... and then graduated to a scion. I loved my civic but actually sold it b/c of alot of really bad taste others had.
Made me almost embarassed to own my 94 si.

Somehow the amber in the TYCs just makes them look cheap. I can't really explain it. It's probably because I'm brainwashed into thinking that whatever BMW/Mercedes is doing these days is "where it's at," and since they dropped amber out of their lights a few years ago, I shouldn't have it on my car either.

Although, now that I think about it, none of the cars that I've ever really liked (and I've owned a LOT of cars) have ever had amber in the back... or in the front.
