If you want warrantied HP increase... go for it if you have the money. It should put you close to 200 whp (from early dynos that is). I'd get it if I had the money.

tshaw as an owner of a supercharged tc, it is worth it. you can get smaller pullies tht will add 20+whp. You can add headers, intake (which i know is being made by a certain company for the supercharger), lighter pulley and u will be around 240-250, my guess. i only have the 9psi pulley and forge 007 bpv and it kicks butt. well i have emange too so my tune is alittle better than the reflash. i will have my 4-2-1 mmw headers sometime this week so that should open it up for a good amount more power.

post this under force induction and u will ge alot more responses.

If you're willing to lose your warranty (all of it), then a smaller pulley would bump you up to 215-220whp.

But if you're going to destroy your warranty, you may as well go turbo.

^^ You don't "lose" you warranty by installing a pulley. If they prove the pulley causes a problem then they just won't cover the repairs under warranty.

The tamper cap they use is pretty much useless b/c most people just ask their dealers to leave them off and no one seems to have a problem with it.

The supercharger is an excellent choice if you want to keep your warranty and increase the power (and potential) of your tC. If you do not car about warranty then modifying a SC tC definitely makes it worth the purchase of the SC. Also if you are not very mechanically inclined I would also recommend the supercharger. FI is the only real way to increase power in our cars right now. Now if you are very comfortable with cars and there workings (mechanically inclined) then I would suggest getting a turbo kit otherwise the SC would be your best choice for increased power.

Directly on the cap it says, "tampering of this cap will void warranty" or something to that effect. But trust me, they will get you on WHATEVER they can. I am living proof at the moment.
I took mine in, Stock pulley and cap, and they blamed my problem on my Aftermarket header. So if you want to maintain your warranty then I would suggest not doing a pulley or header... You can do intake and exhaust and BPV and make about 210whp.. Mine made 208whp with exhaust intake and BPV....

^^ That depends a lot on the dealer. I would have liked to see why they said any S/C problem was b/c of a header... sounds like they just wanted to screw you.

But ya, the cap does have a purpose, but only when it's actually put on correctly when you get the s/c. I know of a few that had them not put it on, then changed the pulley and then put the cap on.

^^It not only depends on the dealer, but also TRD.. Well thats what I get from talking to them. They told me at TRD, that if you have an aftermarket header the warranty is voided.. Which makes me wonder if they have to show TRD the car before they will warranty it.

Hooray for commiting fraud? Heh.

Back on the subject...

If you don't know anything about cars, get a Supercharger and do nothing to it.

If you're willing to give up your warranty for more power, get a turbo. Making modifications to the supercharger is a waste of money, as you'll never achieve the same potential as a turbo'd application. Not to mention you'll be paying a lot more.

Affordable.
Reliable.
Power.

Pick 2.

I have the s/c and love it. I have not changed the pulley, put on a header, etc. The warranty is too important to me. I LOVE my stock supercharger and feel it was worth the money. I see a lot of people posting on here that they have problems with their turbos. You just really have to know what you're doing AND have the time to perfect it, to happily own a turbo. Nothing against the turbo, but I don't personally have the time to do that, so I stuck with the s/c.

Thank you all ...I think im going to buy it from TRD and have them install it ....I just spoke to them and they said if I go that way then everything stays under warranty and I bought a brand new car so I could have a warranty so I guess I'll do every upgrade through them...how ever it kinda sucks because I do know cars!!!

Just wanted to refer the guy that had the header - s/c problem at the dealership to
http://www.pt-tuning.com/policies/Magn-Moss-Act.html
talks about the Magnusson-Moss Act that says dealerships have to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was your header that created the problem. If you can prove it wasn't the header, you can fight it.

Well, I am sick of dealing with TRD and the A$$holes that work there. Honestly if I were you I would stay as far away from the S/C as possible.
TRD has COMPLETELY lost a customer in me. They have NO idea how to be courteous on the phone.. Not only have they given me an attitude, but today they gave one of the Master Techs at the dealership an attitude saying that they will not do ANYTHING unless they provide pictures of my car.
I am done with that crap company for good....
