Ive got a question- and yes Ive done a search and cant find what Im asking. which is: do Scions have a power retention feature? Will the power windows work when you take the key out long enough to roll them back up?

No, however why the heck did Toyota not do this. Every other Toyota product I have ever had has it.

BTW, I have had 3 differant camry's and have a friend w/ an avalon. All have retained accessory power.

time for a re-wire tech?? I wonder if it would involve new hardwire or if someone with a laptap and and an OBD plug attachment could reprogram the 'puter to do??

a little off topic - but something that "bothered" me the first day I bought the xB... on the 300 mile trip home from the dealer, I noticed that only the drivers window had an auto roll down feature.

now call me impossibly lazy - but I like the "All Auto" feature on cars (except when I'm tinting them - then they SUCK... constantly trying to f-up an install.)

BUT, I've got a solution in the works for this 'problem' in the works, soon as I get it all sorted out I'll post some info on it.

hey why not see if we can use the lexus auto up/down switches.....mabye a direct placement....b/c it seems it just clicks farther!! i'll ask my scion tech guy and see if it would work...he used to do lexus so maybe he might know.....

I added remote windows to my xB when my alarm was installed. So I can roll them down from a distance, they roll up when my alarm is activated and all 4 windows are one-touch up and down.

Besides, this is technically an unrelated question - the OP wanted to know if there was accessory retention, while the Post Resurrector wants to know what kind of alarm system features auto-up.

This really should be a seperate thread, or it's going to get ignored. A question that has to be dug for is one that doesn't get answered. The only reason I ended up here is to see how someone could possibly go five years without determining that Scions DO NOT have accessory retention :silly:

I think I saw a post where you buy three more of the 'auto-down' switches and swap them into the switchpanel.

No, however why the heck did Toyota not do this. I'm kinda glad it doesn't do this cause it would be another feature like the rear window wiper. You have to pay for it wether you want it or not.
