Default TRD Sway Bar is Cheaper than the Strut Bar

That just makes no sense to me.

The rear sway is currently about $135 from TRDSparks. The strut bar is like $170. WTF?

And what's even more dumb... most people know that the TRD strut bar is just a rebadged and painted Hothckis bar... but the Hotchkis one is only $145. Doesn't make much sense IMO. Ya, I know TRD is going to jack the price of it and all, but that's a bit much.

TRD Rear Sway: $135
TRD Strut Bar: $170
Hotchkis Strut Bar: $145

So it seems like the rear sway is really cheap right now and the TRD strut bar is a total rip off - unless you REALLY like TRD stuff or LOVE red - the latter of which a nice can of paint could help you out with.

Sorry... I was just bored and looking up some stuff. And it seemed to me that the sway would be more, since it certainly makes more of a difference and is worth the extra money... where-as the strut bar is just kind of there and MAYBE makes a noticable difference in handling.

the only reason why i think they would do this is because the front strut tower bar is mainly an aesthetic upgrade while the rear sway has a lil performance. plus open the hood and bam!!!!trd strut bar. wheres the sway?? get down and dirty to see it!! so for looks (pretty sure only thing toyota cares about) trd bar wins...hence my reasoning for the steeper price.

i also think to the average joe who has limited knowledege of suspension parts would probably choose the strut bar over the sway, mainly because its more visible...

Ya, I'll admit it's an aesthetic thing... which might factor in... but damnit. I want to get a Hotchkis bar to see if I notice a difference, but it's just so expensive.

yea i think strut bars are overpriced. i wanna get one but i know its mainly gonna be for looks. now on a car with a full suspension set up you might see noticeable improvement but i dont think anything noticeabl alone.

i always preferred this type of brace...connects to firewall

The strut bar's a lot easier to install than the sway bar... that's probably part of it.
