Okay guys and girls please don't bash me for this, i wanted to liven this thread up abit and make fun of my own slow box. Plus i was really bored. :P

So today i was challenged to a race. It was the best race so far to date my box has ever seen and not to mention the other driver was ruthless and just the best competitor i've ever seen.

So we lined the two beast of machines up at the line.

The 300 whp Turbo Pt., was a joke to scare Don, it's just a plain auto with an air intake. But i will still run it and hopefully hang with some tC's. There's nothing wrong with the car just having to wait on some parts and fine tunning it. I told them i didnt mind it being late, would rather have it perfect and wait rather than quick and crappy.

Bad Bump... Found out yesterday that a month and a half notice for a day off isn't good enough, so I am scheduled to work on FRi.. So it looks like i will not be able to attend Drag Night 2.1 :flame: . So after all this talk on this thread it is now meaningless, im a big :loser: . Wasn't there something else going on up there the same night? Maybe we can go there if it rains or is the track is too wet. I'm driving 1hr+ so I want make sure I do something. :)

The facility won't even be open if the track is wet. And even if it isn't wet, but overcast...once it gets wet, they kick everyone out and the no one gets refunds.

I've been there once where halfway through it rained for about 5 minutes. They dried the track off and within 20 minutes we were racing again.

You can also call them @6 and ask them how the weather is there and if they're running that night.

Bad Bump... Found out yesterday that a month and a half notice for a day off isn't good enough, so I am scheduled to work on FRi.. So it looks like i will not be able to attend Drag Night 2.1 :flame: . So after all this talk on this thread it is now meaningless, im a big :loser: . Time to start planning Scion Drag Night 3, lets say maybe Aug????? The car should be in perfect running order by then and maybe 2 months notice will be enough. :nails:

Not to get all up in your biz :) but what does it run to ship the car from FL to KY? You can pm me if you don't want everyone to know or say no comment. My friend said I'd be paying over $500 for one way. I want the ZPI kit and want them to install but not crazy about putting the miles on the car. My dad's got an open trailer but traded in his newer truck for a <gasp> mini van and his older truck won't make the trip and the mini van would be lucky to pull teeth let alone a car. :D

Thanks for the info guys. The turbo fund isn't even half way there yet. Although it's building fast for a bunch of change, parts I don't need now, and extra work. I should have it by the end of summer. That's why I'm going friday to win the $50 and put it towards my turbo fund. 8)

Since this will be my first time at the track...can someone give me a run down of some track rules (serious ones) please.

I have heard things like having to wear long pants....having a headrest....and etc.

I'll be getting there around 6ish I hope.

As far as rules.. The only ones that really apply to you and your tC would be have to wear seatbelt and have windows up when you're going up to the tree. Other than that all the rest of the rules apply to 12.99 1/4 or faster.. convertibles.. and motorcycles.

You can wear shorts it doesnt matter. If you can think of something im forgetting superfa let him know.

Wear long pants and closed toe shoes. Don't run your air conditioner. Find Nate, Don or me if you're new and need pointers.

MOST important....when the light turns green, that means go.

There was a problem the last time i was at the track...a couple of hawndas....newbies...light turned green and they both waited for about 5 seconds before going.

When you pull up to the tree, there will be a set of 4 lights (2 on top, 2 on bottom), when the 2 lights on top light up, you're too far back...when all 4 lights are on..you're exactly where you need to be...when the 2 lights on the bottom are the only ones lit, you've got too far...back up..

then when each is ready to go...you'll see 3 yellow lights flash, and then the green....meaning GOOOO!!!

when you get there, observe a few people racing so you can get better understanding of what i'm talking about. Scion's are slow enough...we atleast need to make it look like we know what we're doing at the track..haha...good luck everyone

Green means "Go," but you're not forced to launch. Some people wait and try to get a feel for their launch. Their reaction time will be affected, but it doesn't affect their overall 1/4 time.

Ya I would say dont launch right when it turns green for your first run or two. A lot of times people who have raced a lot will stage up then the new people will take a little longer to find out exactly how far up they need to be to trigger the lights. Once the new person gets the stage lights it starts shortly after so it can kinda catch you off guard. Thats happened to me a few times and stangely enough thats when I've gotten my fastest runs.

It's really hard to compare the XA's and XB's..... one seems a little more aerodynamically challenged. It was nice to see 2 at drag night though.

There were lots of new racers, and they all did great. Kishan...your dad was awsome for bringing you out to run. I don't know too many other parents that would dig their 16y/o racing. Next time we'll get another 2/10ths!!!

I have no idea how many cars we had, but there were alot!!! I was too busy to take pictures or count...I hope someone was good enough to catch some of the great match-ups on film, and if they did post em up soon.

i had a great time watching everyone race. the drunk guys next to us were getting a kick out of all the Scions racing. I don't think they knew the tC was a Scion, they only got loud when the xB's were up.
