Anyone add side air bags after purchase


some insurance company in 2007 or 08 will require it.

can you add it now.

My father is an ins agent itll be like the old cars without seatbelts they werent standard so they arent required but once they are on every vehicle itll be against the law to remove them know what im sayin

I just got quotes and when they find out no side air bags it goes up like crazy now. 200.00 more per 6 months

Can't add side airbags. And as someone above said there is no chance of your insurance going up $200 if you don't have them on cars prior to side airbags being standard.

I might add that if you have an agent who is playing games with you such as tacking on costs to your rate because you car isn't equipped with something that is not standard or even optional equipment it is time for a new agent.

I personally go through Progressive and originally got it through a local agent so I am a part of their program they call Drive. The extent of my dealings with the local agent to this point have been my visit to them when I originally purchased the insurance. Since I have been on the insurance I have had one accident (not my fault) and added two cars to the policy. Everything is handled online direct to Progressive.

And just recently I have switched my agent. My wife is in insurance and I was able to name her as my agent. Should end up saving me several hundred dollars every 6 months. And since it is all handled online I don't have to worry about my wife knowing every little in and out of the Progressive insurance.
