Default Need some suggestions for amp

Right now this is my setup:
4" Infinity Reference 35RMS (Dash), 6.5" Infinity Reference 50RMS(Doors), 5.25" Infinity Reference 45RMS (Rear)

I am going to be adding to it this:
QD-XB-DF box and one 11kv.2 sub from quarterwavedesigns and Kenwood DDX6019

I wantto add an amp to this setup. I really dont know much about amps, so i need some suggestions. I would like everything to sound the way it is meant to be. Was thinking of a 4channel amp for the fronts and sub and letting the HU handle the rears. Would that work?

they have some 5 ch. amps specifically for running whole systems. but as long as you get good amps you should be able to gain match them anyway. i am about to run 3 seperate amps for only six speakers so its pretty much up to you.

A Kicker 700.5 would handle the whole system, with no problems. It's abit expensive, but well worth it in the long run.
Just my 2 cents worth....

Is it possible to run the front speakers and the sub with a 4 channel amp and let the HU take care of the rears?

So the only good solution would be to get 2 amps or just amp the sub and let the HU take care of the speakers?

Car audio can be very expensive, so i recomend doing things the right way the first time or you could spend a but load of money. By that i mean start with some new speakers and get a sub and an amp to push the sub. See how you like the sound, if you need more, then by an amp to push the speakers. This way your not just throwing money away on things you dont need or want.

I went with the 5-channel idea. Got a Memphis Baby Belle that peels off 400 Watts for my subs and 50 Watts per channel for the rest.

Sounds wonderful, very true to the music but able to leap small buildings if I want (136.3db)

Lot's of good ideas and amps out there. The main thing is to buy a good one and have your system tuned by someone that understands what you want from it.

So are you running the stock head unit or an aftermarket head unit? This could make a difference. You may consider doing what I am doing with my wife's sub.

We also got the down firing enclosure from Elegonics loaded with an 11Kv.2. But we are powering hers with a NINe.2 amp and running the stock head unit. What I did was install a Line Output Converter as well as an in-line Electronic Bass Control (EBC). The rest of the speakers will remain stock for now.

The EBC will allow me to tune the amp and set the gain at full input, yet adjust the bass easily on the fly in the instance that heavy bass comes into play. And this really doesn't add much at all in the way of cost. Just the cost for a short set of RCAs from the head unit or LOC to the EBC plus the EBC it's self.

Look into it. And if you need help finding something, let me know and I can get you some links.

Good Luck.
