i got pulled over for my turbo, gotta go see state ref =[
tC9o9 04-20-2006, 03:42 AM that sux like hell...
ive been pulled over before for my taillights, the STOCK tyc's, showed him that little card they gave me, and he just let me go :loser:
tikbhoy 04-20-2006, 04:04 AM man that sucks
i got pulled over for my turbo, gotta go see state ref =[
ouch
yeah i was going to b1tch about why his giving me a citation for license plate covers even tho its see thru and not even black. that or tick him off and make me pop my hood.
tikbhoy 04-20-2006, 04:18 AM oh yeah this time its my bad since its uphill and merging and I dint look far enough behind for the popo!
tC9o9 04-20-2006, 04:23 AM what was his reason to pull you over? your car looks completely stock except for the muffler, but i mean did he really pull you over just for that? or was it because you were trying to draw attention :lalala:

my exhaust is loud
if your coming from the 71n going to 210w, its uphill.
im just debating to get rid of it, go back to stock until i get another itch. its a great exhaust since zippy used thick pipe and good welds. its also dyno proven(from my recent dyno)
B2FiNiTY 04-20-2006, 05:09 AM With a loud exhaust is it bound to happen sooner or later. So was it a fine or fix it ticket?
tikbhoy 04-20-2006, 05:20 AM With a loud exhaust is it bound to happen sooner or later. So was it a fine or fix it ticket?
honestly i could care less what it is, its still in my car. yeah your right, its bound to happen anytime soon. my gf was freaking out while i was taking pictures.

one of the culprit
CamoTrav 04-20-2006, 06:36 AM Don't worry Tikbhoy your not the only one. I got one tonight too, I was going to meet Kirby at In-n-Out and the officer pulled me over for speeding. 40mph in a 30 zone. Where he pulled me over i could see the restuarant. So close yet so far away. This is my first ticket ever too. I usually am a good driver, and watch my speed. The one time i'm not...dang. Like b2nfinty said it is bound to happen. Now i have to go to court, pay the fine, and do traffic school.
tC9o9 04-20-2006, 06:39 AM its all good, things happen, he's just lucky he didnt have to pop his hood, that would suck to take headers off with a S/C in it.
and that really sux, seein as how is car looks completely stock.
and dude, you painted the wrong parts of the exhaust black, most paint the muffler black and leave the piping polished..

stainless steel isnt supposed to rust but in due time they do. you cant paint on top of chrome because its a waste and it will chip off. its high heat exhaust ceramic paint.
i told you my style is different.
julez007 04-20-2006, 06:55 AM this thread is really making me think about buying a radar. my neighbor has one in his porsche cayenne and he said that he hasnt gotten a ticket ever since he bought it
tC9o9 04-20-2006, 06:56 AM radars do nothing but detect radar guns...if a cop is behind you it doesnt necessarily mean the radar will go off, save your money and just drive normal
tikbhoy 04-20-2006, 07:01 AM this thread is really making me think about buying a radar. my neighbor has one in his porsche cayenne and he said that he hasnt gotten a ticket ever since he bought it
ditto with black
it will just give you more reason on confidence to disobey the law. the amount you pay for a good detector would probly equal the price of your ticket tho some company offer to pay it.
hXcdi3hard 04-20-2006, 07:01 AM Suprized he didnt nail you for your headlights...i got nailed by one stupid cop that said his pet peve is blue lights....so he gave me a fix it to change all my turn signals and headlights....put them all back on the next day....it was in upland....watch out cops there are RETARTED!! LOL
tikbhoy 04-20-2006, 07:03 AM Suprized he didnt nail you for your headlights...i got nailed by one stupid cop that said his pet peve is blue lights....so he gave me a fix it to change all my turn signals and headlights....put them all back on the next day....it was in upland....watch out cops there are RETARTED!! LOL
it happen 1130am
im just happy he dint pop the hood.
i would have said all that parts is part of the TRD kit, " look at the carb sticker "
:silly:
my HIDs are white, its not even blue at all. pictures are weird.

I disagree. I love my radar detector and who cares about BS "laws" that were created to control people for no reason. You knew your exhaust wasn't CARB legal and it obviously was a modification....what was your confidence to disobey the law then?
My radar detector has saved me at least 7 times that I can remember in the past 4 months. I'm asian and I can't stand the way my race drives. I wish to shoot them all and get them the hell off the road. 55 in a 65 while in the left lane with no traffic should be a felony for being a moron. All the while their speed is fluctuating from 50 to 65 seemingly attempting to stay in the blind spot of the person driving in the next lane over so that no one can pass.
I cut these morons off hard and literally stop to 0 mph on the freeway just to free traffic up again (or slow down enough to make them merge and speed up right when they get over).
Anyway, if I'm not driving 75 on the freeway, I'm not driving fast enough. The majority of the time there's traffic for no reason....it's funny that traffic seems to slow down the most in areas like Garden Grove, Brea/Diamond Bar, Cerritos (all in CA). If you're in CA and know of these cities, you can probably put two and two together.
75mph is not that "fast"...the point is that people need to be aware of their surroundings and get the hell out of the damn way. People need to stop being so damn chicken sh!t and speed up 5 mph when they notice that they're slowing down traffic so that they can get in front of the person driving along side them. Instead, these morons with licenses continue to repeatedly check their rear-view worried taht the person behind them is starting to ride close to their back end and trying to figure out how they're going to get in front of the car next to them.
I don't enjoy driving in a pack of 20 cars traveling the same speed with everyone convieniently driving in each other's blind spots so that no one can pass. I also don't enjoy driving behind a person that is going the speed limit but has to brake at EVERYTHING. Like the red light 2 blocks up or that plastic bag that just flew into the street. That to me is 1000 times more dangerous than going 10 mph faster than the flow of traffic. It's obvious the idiot does not know how to drive with enough confidence that they're not going to run into something that's 200 ft away travelling in the same direction.
These morons with thier unpredictable driving habits are the real cause of accidents and traffic. It's like a Nascar race where one of the drivers is about to run into a piece of tire and instead of just running the damn thing over, he decides to slow everyone else behind him down b/c he got scared it would cause his engine to blow up.
I dont' use my radar detector to break the law. I break the law because people are morons and need to get the hell out of the way....I use my radar detector more as a safeguard against that cop up the road that is about to make my day a really bad one.
Not only that, but I would much rather pay $300 once than paying anywhere from $100-$300, going to court, dealing with insurance premium adjustments, etc. on what could possibly multiple occassions. My radar detector was the single best mod that I have ever invested in. How can a mod that could help you save money be a waste?
P.S. Goodness I just realized I went off for a while there. Gotta love 4/20/06
HungSolo 04-20-2006, 08:51 AM Man that sux. Sorry to hear it.
stillmotion 04-20-2006, 02:34 PM i didnt realize it was so strict in cali... chicago cops could care less
HKSpeed 04-20-2006, 02:52 PM man that sucks
i got pulled over for my turbo, gotta go see state ref =[
is that why youre trying to sell your car?
... chicago cops could care less
This is true in St.Louis also they don't hassle us about mufflers and lights or hell an engine mod or three.I knew they were strict in cali but damn being pulled over just because they see an aftermarket muffler and having to worry about maybe having to open your hood sucks in the worst way.
NeveNelEstate 04-20-2006, 08:28 PM ...My radar detector has saved me at least 7 times...
Radar detectors only work when the cop is using radar, I had my buddy's RD and got pulled over by a CHP that wasn't using radar, actually when I asked him how fast I was going he said "I don't know, but I had to go 100mph to catch up to you so I wrote it for 90+" if I didn't live in AZ I would have faught it but that's too far to drive.
julioxcorexA 04-20-2006, 09:09 PM heres some shrimp about RD.
cops are slowly going to lasers.and yes there are laserD's but the whole thing about that is once the laser is on you BAM it knows your speed. and unlike radar the laser can go way farther and is more effnt. i had a RD for a while and yea it would go off for cops but more times would go off for downeys radar sensors for fire trucks. you know those lil black things on top of the lights. well if you flash them with your high beams most of the time the light will change faster. depending on how strong your high beams are.
i dont know who said it but i agree with them just drive normally.
ps. there are really good decetors tho. ones that point in the direction of where the radar or laser is coming from.
but i havent seen them in stores for a good 4+ months
tikbhoy 04-21-2006, 12:59 AM lets END all the reply's regarding Radar Detectors
its a touchy topic.
some people think it works for a reason.
some people think its stupid to have.
done. period.

ok cool. its not a big deal to me to get the ticket. confidence ? disobey? lol. CARB ? lol.
you dont like the speed limit. ok cool.
titosbluebox 04-24-2006, 07:29 PM i have gotten 2 exhaust tickets in the past 4 months it really isnt anything
aacordon 05-10-2006, 03:49 AM damn, i got a ticket for tint, exhaust, intake, and afterhe gave me those tickets, he gave me one for speeding at 85 on a 65, i was on cruise control at 75
tikbhoy 05-10-2006, 04:11 AM damn, i got a ticket for tint, exhaust, intake, and afterhe gave me those tickets, he gave me one for speeding at 85 on a 65, i was on cruise control at 75

ouch, i call that a Pig's buffet.
i hope your're ready to see the referee and have $$$ for a hefty fine.
aacordon 05-10-2006, 04:31 AM hahaha, i got the cash, just gonna take the stuff off and put it back on the same day lol. But i am gonna try to get the speeding ticket reduced to 70-75 mph which is like 150 buks cheaper. So watch out for all the popo on the 10. the 210 is racing heaven lol. drove topped out 127mph from pasadena to pomona in 12 min
tikbhoy 05-10-2006, 05:00 AM LOL
it usually takes me 15-20 min to drive from pasadena/pomona
its going to be hard to fight that ticket because i bet he wrote it in 1 ticket and another.
i had the same before
in 1 week
2 tint
1 speeding
1 exhaust
1 tags
1 illegal something bs crap equipment
it was like 3 tickets with note on each citing that theres more, referenced on the other tickets
aacordon 05-10-2006, 05:05 AM he wrote it all on one ticket, so he told me to take car to court. How much was ur speeding by the way?? i dun care about fix its.
tC9o9 05-10-2006, 05:10 AM thats what happens when you drive like an @$$...
good luck, cuz it will be expensive
and i claim BS on the exhaust.. its not loud
aacordon 05-10-2006, 05:12 AM lol ali. i wasnt driving like an ... i was on cruise control cuz i was too tired to drive hard.
oh yea for me a 200 ticket is cheap compared to my parents 400+ tickets. how much was urs
tC9o9 05-10-2006, 05:21 AM o... thats cool then..
but most of hte time your speeding and what not
and honestly you can fight the ehxuast, its not that loud...
under 100db for sure
and ive gotten a speeding ticket before, didnt go on my record, because the cop never showed up
it was however considered wreckless driving on my part...
90 in a 45, 2pm... school closing hours, $5000 dollars, suspensed licensce
lets just say someone up there loves me
aacordon 05-10-2006, 05:23 AM holy sh*t wtf were u thinking,i dun go faster than 45 on streets, and i drive hella fast on empty freeway or packed on 210, never on 10
tC9o9 05-10-2006, 05:31 AM i was lucky i didnt get cited for racing.. i was racing a RSX.. in my sentra, i kicked his @$$, but got pulled over with him.. we both got cited, me 90, him 85
he paid his ticket ... i contested it
i drive well now, no more stupid stuff
aacordon 05-10-2006, 05:53 AM wow he paid 5 g
tC9o9 05-10-2006, 06:07 AM not sure what happened to him.. i know he paid ALOT though, he had alot of priors
LA-tC 05-10-2006, 08:53 AM holy sh*t wtf were u thinking,i dun go faster than 45 on streets, and i drive hella fast on empty freeway or packed on 210, never on 10
No way i got a speeding ticket going 75 on 65 on 210/134 westbound near Pasadena at 12:25AM
YES 12:25 AM !!!! I was the only car on the freakin freeway and was only doing 75 on the FAST LANE and i got caught!!!!!!! My regular speed on 210 is like 80-85 and seriously i dont wanna drive fast on 10 cuz the road SUX.
The only thing i want to thank god is the CHP didnt pop my hood and didnt say anything about the big assss exhaust -- I tried not to step on the gas pedal when I was being pulled over and that obviously worked! Had to pay like $100 and something
gotta luv CHP, and i have to agree the whole "It bounds to happen" thing
yellowxboy 05-10-2006, 04:56 PM fullerton college has a state ref station, thats where i got my exhaust checked at. i think its $15 for a test print out (so that you can show the cops incase they try to ticket you) or its FREE if you show them your ticket.

do they give you any hassle ?
like pop your hood ? ohh whats that a header huh....
yellowxboy 05-11-2006, 03:19 AM they guys that tested my car were really chill. they dont let you watch them test your car. they are pretty straight forward.
i got pulled over for a loud exhaust. i brought the car in, they tested the db readings from the exhaust and thats it. i had a CAI, cat convertor and they didnt say anything or hassle me.
