So i figured id leak ya some photos of my current project. Sadly materials came way late in the week and has forced me to cancel going to VIP. Now that i have my fiberglass and other supplys, everythings commin along nicely now. These are shots taken earlier this week, since then ive gotten most of the bonding done and started the molding in process. Oh and if ya notice, my hatch has been reskinned finnally. you need smaller wheels

Heres some newer pics for ya.... this is after reshaping and cutting the fenders, cutting and reshaping the qtrs, adding the 20mm shims to the rear, new shocks in the rear, fiberglassing the flares on, duraglass the entire fenders/qtr, cutting the flares to mould into the rockers, fiberglassing and mudding the rockers. Ive done it this way so I can still remove the rockers and fenders... Rather than having the whole thing moulded. Still have the bumpers to do... and figuring out how to mount the front bumper to the fender. Since I cut the fender, theres no more area to attach the clip/zipties. Plus the new setup doesnt rub the tires at full drop. Thats right! I can roll still at full drop with the 17x8.5 25 offset Works! Even with the 20mm shims in the rear. Ill try to keep the pics in order as they were taken over a few days.

So i got the other sideskirt and front bumper done today... And my Cusco camber plates are in! :0) And the new fear of me wrecking this thing has begun to creep on me.... I have SO much time invested so far! Lemme not jinx myself. But it does look GOOD. more pics soon. -M

So another weeks gone by... And im crazy busy at work. So i didnt get Too much done. All the moulding will be done this weekend though. I also built brackets for the front and rear bumpers. So they are now solid w/ no need for the lil plastic clips on the fenders/qtrs. No more zip ties either :0) Pics really arnt doing justice though. Its hard to see the extent of the flare. But i assure you its big. Prolly best noticed in the shot of the front. Well anyway, here they are:

Actually... I live and work in MD. The plates are old and need to be swapped, which will be done soon as i paint it. As far as custom type shops in VA... I dont really know too many sadly. Ive worked for First choice in Alexandria, which is a great shop. But they scep in BMW porsche and audi, (like my shop now). Theres also Wagon works, which ive heard good and bad... but again its not a custom type shop. Im positive w/ a lil research at one of the Sat burger king meets w/ the hot rodders, you could find a good shop. But i cant recomend one for ya. Like i said before, this is my car, at my shop.... my work just happens to follow the lines of my hobby. For an everyday customer, my shop wouldnt take on a job like this. And what id have to charge someone.... would prolly buy me a nother Scion :0) -Mikey

Here we go, more pics... got the bumpers fiberglassed and duraglassed. Will get the finnal fitment done tomarrow night. Also Did some work on the inner qtrs, The rears used to ba able to roll at full drop (with the Works) till i put the 20mm spacer in. Now the tires rubbing the inner edge of the Qtr (right above where i rolled the qtrs flat). Gonna see if i can move the inner wheelhouse up some. Im trying to be able to roll at full drop. Got allot of other lil side projects done too, but those ill keep secret for now :lalala: Notice how different the rear looks now w/ the Works. Getting this close to finnished is kinda spurrin me on, This jobs wore me out.... Hope to have it in Primer next weekend. ok, heres the pics:

Cusco camber plates are in! That means i can put the Works back up front... Man does it look sick. Been doing allot of finnish sanding and various body repairs, (dings and dents). Will be shaving the rear Squirter too this week (why keep it w/ no wiper?) No new pics as of yet, ill take more once a more drastic change has happened (ie primer or paint). Primer by this weekend and paint next weekend is the goal. Lets hope it happens... -Mikey

OK! ive been thinkin i wouldnt post pics till paint.... but i got a lil excited and snapped some pics... The Biege stuff is spray poly. i <3 spray poly! Its just an awesome product for things like this. You might notice that the rear bumper is a different color... thats cause it has been blocked in the pics. Blocked = hand sanded w/ a block to make it straight... As of tonight the whole cars been blocked will be primed over the next few days. still hopin to paint this weekend, but its prolly not gonna happen. anyhow, the pics: Oh yea, the bumpers are just hung on for the pics... no brackets or clips. so dont be worried bout gaps. Everything fits real nice.

Thanx everyone for the kind words! Its on the final stretch now... about damn time! The entire things torn down (no doors, windows, hood, fenders etc.) And Ive begun to prime. Im gonna do the primer in stages w/ blocking in between to ensure its as slick as posible. Also gonna start cuttin in the doors and hood this week. The jambs will be painted along with the quarters so theres no pain lines. I assure you, Scionlife will see the Final pics first! >Mikey

Actually im still waitin on my color... i got a hookup through our paint supplier, im just waiting on it to get here. But im not wasting time. Ive actually primed the WHOLE car with 4 coats of high build primer. Your prolly asking why?!? But anyone with a BSP knows how thin/crappy our paint is. So im not playin around with that crap as my foundation. Ive actually been getting home before 11 last few days, kinda stretching out the blocking till my color arives. Its kinda nice getting home and still seeing a lil daylight. Its been a long time since ive had that chance. The car looks funny as is, i almost snapped a pic today. Its completly torn down, no doors, windows, hatch, hood or fenders... and all those parts are torn down as well. Very soon, very soon indeed! >Mikey

Saddly, prolly not. Its been a goal of mine since i started this to BE done by the BBQ. But it really crept up on me before i realised. Since im doin this after hours, and its gonna take all weekend to paint. Even if materials arive this week. Ill either paint next weekend, or go to the BBQ im my ole pick'em up truck. I thought about bringin it in primer. But the Qtr windows are out of it... all the doors are off and torn down. It would take forever to put it back together JUST to bring down, then tear it all apart again. So like i said, its a shame, but im not gonna take for granted that i prolly saved 700+$ on paint materials. Its all blocked ane waitin on paint. nothing but waiting now.... >Mikey

yea, stupid weather

Well just my luck, we head out at about 6:30 to snap some pics... And clouds roll in. We lost the light but still snapped up some pics. The color is VERY light sensative, different lights really change the hue. But no its not some crappy ___ chamelion paint! Maybe ill let dave hook ya up w/ some teaser pics :0) >Mikey

I saw it a little while after the shoot. Even being color blind and the sky being overcast. . . let me tell ya'll you're in for a really well done job. The wait is worth it!
