hey everyone,
i was just wondering if i would be able to buy some HID or xenon bulbs without having
to buy a whole kit and headlight assembly. I want to do that eventually,
but right now i just don't have the money, but i want to see what those kind of bulbs would look like in my xa. Is there anything keeping me from just putting those types of bulbs in to replace my halogens?

i have ne xenon bulbs that i bought from a tuner shop in town that just plug right in... but you need to be careful with hid they are for off road use only & you could get pulled over and a tickect for them. i would go with xenon same look and legal

also, there is very little around where i live. where's the best place online to find a bulb that will fit right in. i read somewhere that some bulbs don't have a high bean ability... will these ones?

Where to buy = Ebay

What kind of bulb = H4 bulb (55/60w draw)

H4 bulbs have two filaments, one for low beam and one for high so you will not need to buy seperate bulbs. These bulbs are HID-like in that the color is similar, but the actual light output is completely different.

Xenon is just the gas inside the bulb. Unlike halogen bulbs, they burn much brighter and hotter.

Most of the HID kits come in a few flavors for H4 bulbs which as M-Flo points out are Hi/Lo bulbs. You can get, single (Lo only), Dual (Hi/Lo - high beam is a halogen bulb piggy-backing the Xenon), or BiXenon (Hi/Lo One Xenon bulb using a servo to reposition the angle when the high beams are selected). As CHPRBOX8 said HID kits are not street legal, as well as HID retrofits and most after market halogens bulbs so if that is a concern get silverstars or some thing that is DOT approved, if you ever do get a kit or do a retrofit make sure to reaim everything correctly.

My xB with a kit lights angled down a bit..

If you planning to buy PIAA bulbs, dont buy the extreme white. I bought that and it looks like the stock light. I paid over 40 for that junk. I am going with HID. Getting mine from Zach from 365motorwerks, great guy. When you're ready you should hit him up.
