Default Pioneer AVIC-Z1

Hello all, I am seriously thinking about getting this H/U. I was wondering if anyone on here has tried one out first hand, and knows anything more about it. Also, does it have one of those lockouts so you cant play movies and stuff while driving? Any info about it other than what can be read online would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm sure it has a lockout. As I understood it, it will only send video output to aux output monitors, not on the main monitor while in motion. But that's simply how it was explained to me, not what I have observed.

I'm hoping to see it in the store so I can take a look.

Yeah, I've heard the same thing but I know for sure that it has a lock out. You can't even bypass it because it uses GPS to tell if you're in motion unless you get some type of GPS signal blocker but then it would be pointless to have the Navigation feature. Go to www.pioneerelectronics.com and check out the navigation section. If you want to buy one really cheap you can talk to sraudio. He's selling them for 1732.00 shipped. I'm waiting on mine to come in now. It should be here by next wed or thu. Tell him that I referred you to him. Good luck with your future purchase. Peace...........

CAn you share them? My understanding is that all the new pioneer systems are GPS locked, meaning that anytime the vehicle is in motion, certain functions are disabled.

This is a sweet unit! It has a built-in 30Gb hard drive (10 of it is for music, other 20 is for navigation), and is bluetooth capable! Touch screen navigation, and built-in DVD player (which can easily be bypased......).
