Default Cruise Control

Does anyone have a picture of the cruise control stock on the Scion xA. There is a dealer-installed cruise control optoin, but I have read that it is in the way of some people's knees when they drive.

Thanks

my dad might have one from when he did the cruise in my xA. It doesn't hit my knee, but I am 5'1 so not much does. I'll ask if he has any pictures

The way the dealer installed mine, yes, it did hit my legs (kept hitting the on/off button and killing the CC). The lever has an angled bushing where it mounts, that puts it at its angle. I simply turned the bushing around to make the lever stick straight out, instead of down.

I'm 6' tall, and it does not get in the way anymore.

Cruise control is only a dealer installed option

This animal does not exist. There is one cruise, and one cruise only available from Toyota, and it is only a port or dealer installed option and it is identical whether it is installed by the dealer or the port.

I believe he meant to say "stalk" not "stock" as in the stalk for the cruise control, which is a Rostra cruise and available aftermarket and from the dealer-- same part.

Cruise control is port installed in the southeast region. Otherwise it is dealer installed or like mine, aftermarket. It's all the same part no matter who installed it, and the install was pretty easy.

I'll get a photo in a few minutes.

I installed mine and had to readjust the stalk as 99SVT said. The bushing can be rotated to change the angle. All you have to do is remove the bottom of the steering column cover and loosen the nut on the stalk. It is easier to do than to explain.

You can get that cruise control kit with the RF unit, so no stalk, just a control that mounts on the steering column cover.

Not the best pic, but it works great!
