Runs rich? From that? Did you reset the ECU?

disconnect the battery then reconnect it and let the car idle for a few minutes then take it out for a drive

Take the negative cable off your battery for like 5 min. Then reconnect it and let the car idle for like 10min. I recommend you do this

how do you know it is running rich? Did you hook up a diagnostic tool, or is it so rich it is smoking or burning your eyes?

If you ran into it on a diagnostic tool, did you check to make sure the 02 sensor was installed properly and hooked back up correctly without any damage to it? Second, did you get the MAF re-installed correctly and mated to the intake correctly?

The reason I ask about how you know is two fold. One, to make sure you really know it is running rich. Two, on a diagnostic scan you need to make sure the car doesnt THINK it is rich.

you probably think its running rich because of a more gassy exhaust smell. Thats what happens when you delete a cat and have a freer flowing exhaust

I reccomend for ANYONE doing thier own work or modifying a car to invest in a diagnostic tool, not just a code scanner. You can get one with generic OBDII data capability installed and the ability to upgrade for less that $200 nowadays. It wont be an OTC or anything nice like that, but plenty for most of what you are doing. And the generic data is usually enough to start on with most normal issues. I have the Auto Tap which plugs into a laptop. The software has a few user interface snags every now and then, but I have used it to diagnose a few issues on other cars and like it ok for the $140 I spent on it.
