This was already mentioned on the site, but Scion sent out this press release today:

SCION LAUNCHES OPTOMIZE – A NEW ACCESSORIES AND APPAREL PROGRAM
TORRANCE, Calif., May 1, 2006 -- Scion, of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., announced today the launch of its new aftermarket accessory program, Optomize. As Scion’s second accessory program, Optomize focuses on bringing cutting-edge products and convenience to the customer at the dealership.
Optomize will allow customers to personalize their vehicle at the time of purchase with over 150 name-brand accessories in addition to products already offered by Scion Genuine Accessories. Accessories offered by Optomize will be covered by the individual manufacturer’s warranty and will vary from product to product.
“Scion is about personalization and with Optomize we’re making it easier than ever for owners to customize their cars,” said Steve Hatanaka, Scion accessories operations manager. “We know our customers will be happy with the selection and continue to be creative with their vehicles.”
The program will focus on aesthetic accessories and offer products that tuners can easily install such as shift knobs, rear view mirrors, cell phone holders, and racing pedals. In addition, Optomize will also offer car care, boutique items, Scion clothing and logo goods.
Some brands featured by the Optomize program include Alpine, ARC, Broadway, Detailn Gear, Eagle One, GReddy, Fizz, H3R Performance, Kozak, Levoc, Lonza, Mackin Industries, Meguiar’s, Mothers, Napolex, Pilot Automotive, Racingcode, Razo, Sparco, Street Image, Tein, The Absorber and turn3.
Optomize will launch at participating Scion dealerships in early May.

As far as the Optomize accessories being covered under warranty... ....dont count on it. We've been informed all of these parts are "covered under each parts' manufacturer warranty and may void existing Scion warranties." So basically you are still playing by the old rules with the warranty and aftermarket stuff. This should still be an awesome program...

I'm glad it's happening this month. I wasn't sure when Scion was planning on adding more accesories after talking their accessories pres at the SEMA show in Philly. Some of those parts are nice after looking at them at SEMA. :relief:

As Scion’s second accessory program

Er... what's the first accesory program?

Either way... good. I'm tired of looking at generic sh_it on the net or at AutoZone.

The first accessories program would be the stuff you can already add to your Scion at time of purchase....

What about Mud Flaps that are fitted for the rear is what I am looking for.

Not as much road dust going on the rear bumper area if I had em.

I thought maybe it would be a new accesory!?

I wonder if another vehicles fitted mud flaps would work?

Way to go Scion. Like I harped about early on. Just like home sales, car sales should allow us an allowance $$$ to finance to buy the stuff we want that Scion didn't ovevr then. Looks like they listened

Agreed, that xA is crazy sick. I got to see it at SEMA IAS a few weeks ago. When they changed out the steering wheel for an Xbox360 steering wheel controller I knew it was the car of my dreams...

I was told that mud flap were usually installed under the car check in when it came off the truck at the dealership. Does anyone know if this is suppose to be a standard regular already on the car item?

Thanks Devon

ShaolinSuckerPunch

Are you kidding me? I have to order this crap through the dealer? Screw that. Just find out who manufactures the part you want and order from them directly. Why the hell am I going to order anything through a middle man who I know won't give any discounts? Stupid.

Obviously Scion/Toyota just wants to use this for people walking in and buying a new car, that way they can add their anodized aluminum race pedals into the price of the car and finance it. Other than that, there is no conveninet reason to order anything from this site.

And even then... a $6.99 washmitt? a> Who would add that to the price of their car and finance? or b> Who would walk into a dealership, walk up to the parts department, and ask them to order a WASHMITT?

Maybe I am assuming too much, maybe at some point they will have more exclusive parts and a way to order them directly... but so far this sucks. I can buy half this sh_it at Autozone or Walmart damn it.

i checked yesterday and the Optimize site still isn't up am i getting the wrong site?

ElChupacabra
05-18-2006, 06:23 PM
The idea is that the dealersship will have these things in stock and carry them just like walmart and autozone. So the appeal is that you can walk into the dealership and just get what you need. This is an ordering system like the already released Scion accessories. The idea isnt to finance these parts at all even though you could I guess. I wouldnt suggest it to any of my customers...
