Default Calling all xB owners young and old

I am still in the process of buying an xB and i was wondering if you guys could answer a few questions for me??

1. How well does the xB handle in the snow
2. If you are around 18 years of age, how much are you paying for insurance?
3. Is the stock sound system in the xB decent?

Default ....XBOX.....

1. Great in snow. ABS VSC ect... STABLE and FUN.
2. WAY TOO MUCH.... be listed on your parents insurance if possible.
3. Yes, decent. 6 speakers, SSP equilizer, MP3, SAT, I-pod. Pioneer.

Most will tell you not to buy any options from the dealer. They can all be found here on SCION LIFE .com, aftermarket for WAY LESS than the dealer sells it for.
Example Scion gets $120 for optional floor mats. Go on to e-bay and search for SCION XB MATS and see how much less you could pay.

NO OPTIONS except audio controls on the steering wheel, upgrade stero...($150)

1. Haven't handled her in the snow yet, but handles great in the rain and wet weather.
2. I'm 17 and am under my parents insurance and I pay $210 per month.
3. I got the iPod upgraded stereo and I couldn't be happier. Great bass, equilizer, MP3 playable, with six great quality speakers.

Good luck with your purchase!

If im not mistaken, I believe all mid '06 and newer xB come with audio controls on the steering wheel. The only audio options are the upgraded head unit w/ipod compatability-$260 and the Bazooka subwoofer-$forget

Lemme see...

1) My first xB handled wonderfully in the snow, with good rubber. wear the tires too low, and like any car, it will be an 'experience'.
2) Bought my first xB at 19, paid a lil over $250 a month for insurance. Now on my second xB at 21 (sold my first one and bought my current one), my insurance is around $180 a month until June, when it drops back to $160
3) My first xB with the Pioneer system in it was excellent for a stock system. Nothing like rattling windows on houses 50 ft. away at full blast. As for my new one with the Alpine, it needs some help, badly. Someone dropped the ball on the audio system in the R.S. 3.0.

I'm with the guy above about the dealer options. Only things I had put in by the dealer that were not already on the car (first dealership that had my car put fog lights, green leds, and floor mats in it) was a TRD clutch & short shifter. And the only reason I let the dealer do it, it wrapped around nicely into my 6 year warranty on the car.

Any other things you would want or need, check the Sponsored Sales section to find something new or the Classified to find something new or used. Also, eBay will become your friend for some harder-to-find-cheaply stuff.

xB is AWESOME in the snow... I tried to make it tip and I couldn't... it handled better than my dodge stratus that weighed 800lbs more than the xB

I'm 22, and I pay $182/month with 2 accident surcharges... so... yeah, it sucks.

I don't like the stock sound system. If you want bass, you'll need to upgrade. As far as highs go, they're alright. I replaced the rear speakers with less than 5000mi. on the car, and I am running subs off the stock head unit. Not too bad, actually... but there are a LOT better setups out there.

Good luck!

1. Great car in the snow (even on 18's with 215/35 tires)

2. I am paying $450 every 6 months for full coverage in my name with more than 2 accidents ( but it has been almost 6 years since I had those accidents)

3. I never keep a system stock, I replaced the head unit/ speakers/ and added a sub and amp like a week after getting my xB.

I moved to Minnesota last November. We had a mild winter this year, but the xB handled great. The traction control and ABS (comes standard on all xBs) helps a GREAT deal. Mine's a 5 speed, if that matters to you.

I'm 31, so I'm excluded from the 2nd question.

The xB does have a decent sound system. I would say above average for stock systems.

Hope that helps!

We don't get too much snow down here in Louisiana but in the rain, it handles great!

Insurance for me is about 160 a month or something like that.

As far as stock systems, I traded mine in after i put about 5-10 miles on it. The same day I got it, I dropped it off at the audio shop for a complete audio makeover!

It does fine in the snow.

The stock stereo is ok, but if you are into music you will want to upgrade.

SWEET! Best snow car I've ever owned. (For best results, keep the stock tires; wider tires don't work as well on snow . . . .)

2. If you are around 18 years of age, how much are you paying for insurance?

Heh, heh, heh . . . .

3. Is the stock sound system in the xB decent?

I think so. (It's a LOT better when it's set to "xB" instead of "tC" ;^)

Great in the snow, just don't travel at high rates of speed haha, I'm under teachers' insurance and it's not too bad, don't remember don't pay and finally the sound is actually pretty good.
