My wife just ordered her 05 xB with the standard single disc cd player. I have the hardware and antenna from a previous car for XM...can I simply have that plugged into the factory cd player and then subscribe to XM again?

Nope, IIRC it uses a proprietary Toyota only connector for the XM equipment, just like not including RCA out and in connectors on the CD player. Just another guerilla tactic used by Toyota to force you to buy their overpriced accessories.

goto ebay, there is a plug that goes into you factory unit that makes rca's and the wires for xm radio, cost like 40 bucks, then you can use all your xm equipment.

Are you talking about this overpriced home made turd? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=38636&item=2481170393&rd=1

It's no different from a standard RCA convertor - it still will not give the same sound quality that RCA cables directly from the headunit will give. Scion fudged up majorly with the headunit.
