It's cool. I have dubz but unless you get the same old TIS wheels, have fun running dubz. I would go with 19'z if I could do it all over again!

20 inch rims look like crap on this car...car is to small for that large of a rim

What did you have to remove to make em fit w/o rubbing.... Probally not going to lower but is there any other issues w/ rubbing?

NOT TRUE...i had 20's on mine with a 2" drop and i drove everyday.

had? on an xB? I highly doubt that. 20s only work with a 1" drop at most and there still is a little cutting to get em to fit. and if you go 2", you have to roll the fenders and cut away at some plastic in the wheel well.

you CAN'T put 20s with a 2" drop and not have to do any work.

 so im a liar? i "HAD" only because someone offered me an awesome amount for them. otherwise i would still have them. and YES it was with a 2" drop and i would load the hell out of my car and drive it all over the place. i use my box for picking up merchandise. i once had it filled with 2 set of 22" wheels and 8 tires.

Is this really called for? I doubt it.....

If it was that easy, you would see "Dub Box" sitting with a 2" and his wheels were 20x7.5 What were yours? He had minor adjustments made to fit them with the 1" drop and he said, along with everyone else I have personally talked to who ride 20s, that there was a lot involved to get 2" to ride perfectly.

You make it seem like they bolt in with a 2" drop without having to do anything. If this was true, everyone would be doing it. Oviously you have big rims on an xB but the process is what the guy needs to know. How did you get them to fit?

dont call BS on something you dont know about....whether or not its called for or not you are the idiot quoting me and calling what i say "BS". i never said that i didnt have to do some cutting to make it work...but that doesnt matter cuz you have to cut the hell out of the car to even get the wheel on the hub.

i cut the same part of the side skirt that everyone else did to get the 20's to fit. i used the TIS 03 which is a 20x7.5 with is 225-35-20 nitto 555. my car is lowered 2 inches and after that i simply removed the plastic linings in both the front and rear of the car and thats about it. i never said it was easy. someone said it was not possible, i simply replied.

i khave 20's on mine, foose rims with bfg 225-30-20's and it did rub like a mutherf@cker i have eibach springs and the front were cut, so the wheels are tucked inside, they rub when you are going in and out of driveways and u turns......... so i think im lower than 2" drop so please dont say it cant be done... if i had to do it over again i would go back to 19's though

Erase all of the above posts from your BRAIN...
I have many cars. Two of which happens to be XB's.
One is a SilverCloud and the other is a Hot Lava.
Originally I had one, a SilverCloud (look to older posts) and then I bought #1550 Hot Lava.
With less than 10 miles on the SilverCloud I installed 20"s and had absolutely no problems with a few trimming modifications. (no Fender rolling ever)
I can't remember exactly, but in less than a week I installed Eibach 2" lowering springs. This caused rubbing under the vehicle but not under the fenders. It was corrected within 2 hours or less with just minor relocating of the rear mud flaps. The 2" drop springs have since been replaced with 1" drop TRD Springs because the ride was too bouncy at 65+mph. This had nothing to do with tire size or rim width. Suspension only!
Now, with all of that said, that was with the 225/35r20 tires.
I have previously posted that the best rim width for an XB, regardless of overall diameter is a 7.5" rim. (If anybody wants to dispute that has to have their own agenda).
After having some experience with different rims on my first XB, the second one offered less mistakes and decisions. For example, without thought I immediately installed 18" x7.5 wheels and put to use the 2" drop Eibach springs that I had from the SilverCloud. Done, no nothing. I simple operation, even for someone that has no idea.
That all changed---I got a hold of 4 BFG 225/30r20 tires. I installed them on the Hot Lave 2" drop and didn't have to make any mods. NOTHING!
So don't listen to any wantabees or pretenbees.
YOU CAN PUT 20"S ON ANY XB WITHOUT DOING ANY MODIFICATIONS.

question for "DUB BOX"

how did you fit the rear wheels(20 inch) in the fender wells with out trimming?

westsype

what's up with people posting rim size and width but no offset. Offset does make a big difference.

It has been done. Check out Chris' (autosound) post. I ahve seen the xB on many occasions, and he does have the Foose wheels w/ 225/30-20 BFGs on there. Yes he has Eibach springs, and yes they were cut!

so what setup will you guys go with for 19's "Without Rubbing!"

18x7.5 or 18x8's wheels? and what offset?

215 35 19's or 225 35 19's tires?

how many inches to lower? 1" or 2" ? and what springs do you guys recommend?

I would be thankful if all can assist.

Yea, go ahead, encourage people to put bottlecap sized wheels on their cars why dont you?

xB's look almost unbearable stock, the shape of the car makes the wheels look SO small. Even my 17's look like lawnmower tires... Honestly, I think anything smaller than a 18" wheel looks out of place... which is why I hate my 17's.

20s are considered a small wheel these days anyways, everyones rockin' 22's

Just my point of view which doesn't count. You should put whatever makes you happy. Don't let the "media" or other members brainwash you. "Everyone rockin' 22's" Who cares? Stop trying to be like all those ridiculous rappers. Be a leader, not a follower.

I don't think people are trying to "brainwash" other members. Leaders, followers, what are you talking about? Is someone who puts smaller wheels on a leader?? Some people push limits and some don't, but to each his own. IMO, boards like this are for gathering info, and that includes opinions.

Didn't get what I was trying to say. I understand that these boards are for gathering ideas. At the end, the decision is on himself. When someone says that "everyone" is doing something. It ____es me off. I was raised to be myself. Not a follower who does what other people are doing. Earings, baggy pants, dyed hair, color contacts. etc... It's so ridiculous.

The evolution of our society is being slowed by people like you. What about the person who dyes their hair to be original, is that o.k.

Ok so... heres the question, amist all the poo... (on the flag)

I have 1.75" Tein S-tech Drop springs, I can't afford the 225/30/20's so i'm gonna roll the 225/35's this will be on a 20x7.5 of course

What is required to make it drive correctly,... meaning minimal rubbing???

Any help would be greatly appericated

i have been on 20's for over a year with air ride you can roll on the interstate and drop the rear no rubbing at all when u are rolling straight i didn;t do anything different. cut the same side piece and trimmed out the metal in the rear just to get them to fit same with the front. once the 20's were on and clear it would ride low all the way down slow just can;t turn. so the rear with a 2 inch drop should not rub at all know matter what since it was way lower with air ride,, not the front from the tein s tech springs drops 1.7 and the rear 1.5 so pretty much tuck tire all the way around. i don;t think the front would rub any more or less than it does not with the 20;s when you turn sharp all the way.. the only thing it touches is a little plastic since the firewall had to be moved in to clear the wheels any way just make sure you seal it good or you will get wet feet..
