Default Buying a used xB

Did anyone here buy a used xB? If so how much did you pay for it and how many miles were on it. '

What would be a good price range for a used xB.

When you bought it, were you able to haggle the dealer or is the pure price on used ones also.

I am hoping to get about $2000 for my car i am trading in and i will have anywhere from $3000-$4500 down. Any comments please post... thx

You would be better off getting new. I've seen used xb's going for over $16,000 with over 20,000mi. I don't know about pure price on use ones though. 0 miles and if you get the manual $14,030 without tax, delivery, handling fees and stuff.

You have GOT to buy new. Why pay the same for someone else's used car??

Can't do pure pricing on used cars. Although......the dealer can refuse to come off of the price, which in essence, is kinda pure pricing. It's just because that dealer is being a d*$k.

there are deals out there! i just bought my 2004 bop xb used two weeks ago. it had 33k, automatic with the wing and alarm. seller was asking $13,300 which was right between good and excellent according to kbb. I was able to get it for $12000 even! used prices for xb's at the dealerships are obscene- if your patient you can find your car at your price fron a private seller. just do your homework.

yes, but it sounds like the original poster wants to finance, which is more difficult with a private seller. There are banks that will help you with this but it's not like going to a dealership and getting everything arranged for you.

New is the way to go if you can...all the used ones around here are going for $2000-$4000 more than the original price, IF you can even find one.

Insurance on a USED xb and NEW will be pennies difference.... You're not going to find an xB under 10 grand.... and if you're going to pay 12 grand (like the guy above) and it has 20-30k miles... you might as well just pay 2 grand more and get IT BRAND SPANKING NEW!!!!!!!!!

I just don't understand how people buy used cars just to save 1 grand.. or 2 grand... IMO... you don't how how used/abused another car is.

Whatever...

couple of things:
1. i have never bought a new car (have owned eight), and it doesnt seem strange that you would be able to find one in excellent shape you can afford (for less than new). if i had to buy my xB new, i would not have been able to. budget is what it is, go over it and i will end up in trouble.

2. i just went to scion.com and priced my car as if new and it came out with $16,224- so that is a savings of over $4k. thats lots of money to me.

3. i did finance it through my credit union, have done it many times before. a few more hoops, but nothing too onerous. my rate is really good, better than through toyota.

maybe i got lucky, maybe i am more forgiving of small imperfections in a car, maybe im extremely cheap. either way i love my xB, and am glad i didnt have to settle for a corolla or something because I couldnt come up with the $16k or be willing to pay for the car over 6 years.

Thats what I am saying. I dont have the money to go and buy a 15000 or a 16000 car. I have done a lot of searching on cars.com and autotrader.com and have found a lot of xB's within my price range that look really nice. I just want to be able to haggle the dealer to get my payments a little lower so i wont regret buying it

just have your dad go with you to a bank/credit union. and take the vin of the car you are interested in buying. And take out an auto loan from there. You will def. save money in interest, and there are plenty of super nice ones out there for sale. just dont be impatient when you are looking.

What would be a good price range for a used xB. It depends on year, miles, condition and accessories
When you bought it, were you able to haggle the dealer or is the pure price on used ones also. I found mine on e-bay, for the "buy it now" but it was under blue book price and I paid cash. It had accesories: fog lights, door sills, interior lighting, alarm system, rims, scion mats and "limo" tint.
I am hoping to get about $2000 for my car i am trading in and i will have anywhere from $3000-$4500 down. Any comments please post... thx
Although I had planned on purchasing brand new...I was pleased to find this this vehicle on the internet and have put 7,000 miles on it with no problems. My suggestion is to shop around it you want to buy used, because as the previous posts state, a lot of the used cars were priced more than new.....I would never pay more for used, no matter what accessories were on the car

I have seen used xb's for a lot less than new, but you don't know how they have been treated. I bought new because I wanted to have my first "new car".

I bought my '05 xb used with 12,000 miles, auto, 17" rims, AEM intake, carbon fiber spoiler, and foglights for only $13,995. And that was from a dealer. So I guess I got lucky.
