Default MSD Ignition module

Aloha fellow Sciontists! Has anyone had any experience with adding an MSD Ignition module to an xA? I'm considering it, but no one I've talked to has used one before. I'm mainly interested in burning fuel more efficiently (better gas mileage, burns cleaner so less emissions, etc.) but it seems reasonable to believe that there may be some kind of performance increase as well.

Any thoughts?

Default I have spoken with MSD representitive!

As of right now there are no products availible that will run on an XA/XB, as far as coil pack upgrades and ignition moduals. The reason is our vehicles contain and internal igniter inside of the coil pack and MSD is currently engineering a coil upgrade for Toyota vehicles that will work with thier ignition systems.

On another note, there is not much that can be gained from an upgraded ignition on any vehicle with and ignition system designe such as ours. the reason being that our coils put out high current output with optimum time to charge the windings in between discharges. Yes with high current which will be produced from a coil such as one from MSD or any other aftermarket company there will be a more fuller burn because you will also be able to run a larger spark plug gap, and the ignition modular will also allow you to set a different rev limiter and can possibly allow for ignition timing changes that will allow for more power to be released from the engine by burning the fuel at a different time but it is really complicated stuff. If you understand the dwell and current output of an ignition system then you will be able to figure out why I say this!

Have built many racing engines N/A and F/I with 4 cyl and v8s making more ponies than you could be able to handle, TRUST ME!

Thanks Charlie...that was a really well expressed answer! It sounds a lot more complicated than I originally thought it would be, for maybe not that great an improvement in performance. I really appreciate your reply!
