Default what exhaust with sc????

I am hoping to get a sc in the next couple months and just researching on what exhaust to get. I have been looking at the greddy sp2 and maybe the HKS Hi Power axlebacks. I have been wanting to get a catback but most exhaust systems for the tc are axlebacks. Well for 1 does a catback push more hp than an axleback and 2 would it be better with the sc? Or should i go with a axleback and just get a s/midpipe? Any opinions or anybody want to share their setup would be appreciated.

If you have a S/c and looking for an axle back..go HKS Hi Power axleback. At least thats what I think. As for the catbacks... not sure.

The Megan catback is your best bet, cheaper then any axleback system and it fits well.

I run it now, but no F/I at the moment.

Which one gains you the most power? From what I understand the Greddy didn't net any gain accordign to a dyno. It's been a while since I read that so I could be wrong.

So far from what I've seen a true C/B doesn't gain you any more HP than an axle back. Or atleast that's the case with the Borla exhaust systems.

The GReddy SP2 gain like 6whp in dyno... you can look it at Drivetrain & Power forum.

Ok then I say go Greddy. Like I said it's been a while since I read anything about the Greddy. There's nothing wrong with the HKS but all the one's I've seen kick out to the side and I'm nto a hugh fan of that. Other than that they're fine.

i have the CC catback, hi flow cat, and s-pipe with borla muffler. the thing sounds pretty good-very close in sound to the trd. kinda expensive, but i'm pretty happy with it. def would recommend it if u don't mind the price.

We sell a full 2.5" stainless s-pipe back exhaust, and with our turbo system, we gained about 14whp & 5wtq @ 8.5 PSI....Turbo is different from S/C though.

a "cat back" will not yield more hp then an axle back..maybe like 1-2hp more, but nohting over that.

what you want is an s-pipe back because that will elimate the cat, and will either replace it with a hi-flo cat or a test pipe.

our midpipe is 2.25 inch mandrel bent, which is perfect for our cars, but the cat is what is really restrictive, so remove that and you have a better system. if i were you, and had the S/C..i would go with this set up to make the most power and keep it quiet:

1) s-pipe of your choice
2) test pipe..muffler ship can do it
3)larger resonator
4)HKS hi-power/greddy evo 2/etc.. anything that is straight trough, when you have a transversley mounted muffler, it takes more bends to get to it, more bends = less power... so the striaghter your pipes are, the more you will make... the HKS is prolly the striaghtest i have seen.

ALSO. you can just go all out custom..

i suggest going this route, as this is what im taking
1)megan racing s-pipe(currently on car)
2)2.5 inch MANDREL bent mid pipe
3)30 inch perforated resonator + 12 inch perforated resonator
4) JIC titanium muffler

i have two resonators because 1) ill be replacing the cat with a resonator(w/o the cat, the car gets LOUD) and 2) i will have headers and want minimal rasp

my opinion, for the small amount of gain an exhaust gives you on our cars (unless you go s pipe back), you should worry more about the looks and sound. When the difference in exhausts is a measly 2-3 HP who really cares which one gives more power. Its the sound that your gonna have o deal with all the time.

I have the HKS and love the sound. It is quiet when cruising but deep and rumbles when on it. Enjoy the sound ALL the time over the 1-2 WHP the 2% of the time you actually will be getting on it.
